That is the most recent review I have read. He lives in Chicago and deals with the same person I am dealing with there. He learned Stealth from the same person. Now I am try to teach that person about Inakustik as it is so very less expensive than Stealth. I believe I have the exact same Stealth USB cable that he uses. I could be wrong.
It’s a fun review but I am sad a lesser system was involved for part of the review…
If the Inakustik is equal to or better than the Stealth it should also be equal to or better than the Sigma as I think the Stealth and the Sigma are so very close. The Sigma is dreamy and easy to listen to. The Stealth just pulls everything out front. Two slightly different sounds, I enjoy both.
I checked inakustik website no silver digital USB only RCA and xlr in digital air designs. I wouldn’t call the inakustik Referenz USB dreamy or that much out front. I think his review was spot on in neutrality and sounding live. The outfront sound with right speaker cable the TPC iconoclast gave me out front. The SPTPC Iconoclast the imaging was more real and realistic. Too bad he had not reviewed Shunyata USB.
I’m in the middle of comparing several USB cables in my streaming system, and I’m not as enthusiastic about the non-tunable version of the Stealth USB as I am about the Shunyata Alpha and the Audience AU24 SE+. I decided to restrain myself from venturing up into the $2K region for a USB cable so I haven’t tried the Sigma or the tunable Stealth. In my system, the lower cost Stealth is a bit bright and edgy at times, even though it does sound a little more open than the Alpha or Audience. I’m finding less listening fatigue with the Alpha or Audience, as I get lost in the music more easily and stop listening for sound effects.
I would return it. But if you just try the Inakustik it would satisfy curiosity. You have the most experience in USB you need a reviewer columns on cables. Andrew at SGC has a thirty day return policy on the USB.
I get no fatigue with Inakustik Referenz. At 340 I think it is a bargain and lets every other cable elsewhere shine through. I am glad I bought it based on a review at SGC. that also put it up versus 20 cables some 2k cables.
Vmax, I wish I had the Inakustik USB to compare to the other cables I’m listening to. A review had mentioned how “detailed” it was, which usually translates to brightness in my system so I didn’t look into it further. Based on your comments, it sounds like it can be a good bargain choice for many.
If you have not resolved noise with LPS ‘s in your streaming chain. It will be damn lively. But never fatiguing in my experience. So far it has no reason to leave my system. It just lets you hear everything there.
I probably do have some unresolved ethernet noise issues in my streaming chain, but I also have very revealing speakers (Thiel CS2.2) that can lean toward brightness if I’m not careful with cable choices. It sounds like the Inakustik USB cable can be a great choice for use in systems that don’t have the specific problems I have in mine. And the Inakustik might even work well in my system if I get my ethernet connections cleaned up further.
The Inakustik excellenz ethernet is good for noisy ethernet softens things up and makes them rich but still leaves detail. The Referenz Ethernet cable is best after noise is addressed and you can handle extreme detail and more space and live sound.
How Odd, I just ordered yet another USB cable.
I have to know how the Inakustik sounds. So I ordered the 1.5M one so the next owner doesn’t have to worry about it being too short.
I’ll put it up against my best.
I have actually been selling some of my cable stash. I had three unopened Wireworld Platinum Starlight 7 HDMI cables that I bought seconds before learning about RAL HDMI cables. One is definitely sold, another is likely sold. And I am going to keep the last one. I am also in the mood to have fewer USB cables I write on the same day I ordered yet another one.
One of these days I am going to start selling DACs and transports.
Plus I still have a pair of Paul’s Genesis speakers I don’t use. Hmmmmm.
And now I have a Matrix sitting on a shelf. Hmmmm.
