The curve is inspired by a fine woodworker/cabinet maker named James Krenov. They are essentially hand-shaped.

While you caught the Thing reference, perhaps you didn’t notice Jupp, our German teddy bear. He serves a purpose. We got him while in Hattingen, Germany when Susan had vertebral disc surgery.
So, what is Jupp’s purpose?
He holds the 2GB SD upgrade card.

We do love the Maggies. I’d get the 20.7 or 30.7, but I’d first have to upgrade the house.
I have been looking hard at the 20.7 but same problem here - I need a bigger house to put them in.

Yes. I would say that it qualifies as a component level upgrade.
So 6 years ago we were looking for a new house. I had heard the 20.1 years earlier. And I thought… one day but my basement ceiling seems too low. So every house I looked at had to have an open space that I was going to utilize as a dedicated room. Found one w a 9’ ceiling in the unfinished basement. Now I have a 17x 30 room w 20.7s. 
That’s just friggin awesome.
I’m a car guy so after my wife and I were married I stopped by the realtors office to see what they had. I told him we were looking for a 1 bedroom house with a 4000 square foot garage either attached or not. They didn’t have anything. 
The SBooster 9V just arrived yesterday - and I’m leaving tonight for two weeks to Italy. So no real comparison possible yet.
First impression with SBooster (and Ultra, sorry) added: highs are slightly clearer, sibilants sound more natural, bass a bit more articulated.
Overall the X-SPDIF 2, SBooster/Ultra and WW cable make a good impression and I’ll keep them in the system. Sounds better than ever.
Having had a number of days to test the new additions, I have to say that the Matrix X SPDIF powered by the Uptone LPS 1.2 is one of the most significant upgrades that I’ve ever done.
I first tested the Matrix with a wall wart at 9v, and also powered by USB. Neither were stellar, and going back and forth between LANrover and Matrix were very close, resulting in a divided house. I don’t know much about electrons — I try not to personally interfere with their flow, lest I get zapped — but I’m amazed that the Uptone power supply can make such a big difference in sound. It was immediately obvious.
After settling in with the new sound, I upgraded to 3.0.6 and used Roon to upsample to DSD128. I know, it really shouldn’t matter much to the DS, but I was floored by the improvements.
Bass is extended, everything is smoothed over with no glare or harshness. Sibilance is tamed. There are so many great improvements that I feel I have an entirely new system. I’m actually rather proud of what’s coming out of the speakers.
It almost feels like “I have arrived”, but, c’mon… really.
This is bad news for me. Maybe LPS will be a Christmas present for me. 
All this time I thought that stereo was a sport where people vicariously spend other peoples’ money with recommendations and need-to-haves.
I’m just doin’ my part… what goes ‘round, comes ‘round, and all that.
