Notes: all my Farad Super 3 PSU have the following modifications:
Rhodium IEC feedthrough
Level 3 silver double shielded DC cable
SR BLUE fuses
Rajiv’s testing has stock Farad Super3 with a GX16 to XLR adapter used w/ the test cables. He will be testing the level 3 silver cable when Mattijs is satisfied with the cable design. It should have better SQ when tested.
I have the LPS 1.2, and now for my second matrix I am thinking Sbooster + upgrade cable. But two different systems makes it tougher. I could put both setups on the system with the DSD Sr., I have double the interconnects. But how to feed both the same signal?
(and should I not add the Keces P3 or P8 to the list? LOL)
I’m moving away from the matrix as I picked up a server/streamer that has I2s output that sounds great, but I’m thinking about picking up a Keces to power a couple things (the server and a gigafoil I’m probably going to order). Have you actually used either of the Keces?
I have not. I was only made aware of them in this thread. The person who sold me my first Matrix also sells Keces and recommend their LPS for use with the Matrix to another contributor of this thread.
It comes with the correct plug. There is still a chance to buy a more expensive better sounding cable of course. (I did) Do I hear a difference? I’m not sure.
I don’t really trust that I can answer that John. I only listened to the stock cable for a short period of time. Someone here in this thread said he thought it was a useful improvement and that they were currently discounted. I think I paid under $200 and I recall being pleased at the time. I haven’t done myself any favors by adding, and changing so many things in a relatively short period of time. I am pleased with the results.
I’ve had my Matrix for a few months now great improvement. Today I added a Teddy Pardo LPS to my Matrix at 9v and MicroRendu at 7v and the increase of air and space was very impressive. I know a lot of people are getting good results with the Uptone. If you are looking for a different flavor the Teddy Pardo is a great unit to match with the Matrix and MR.
I have a Teddy Pardo 7v and love it. I use it to power the Matrix and a Small Green Computer LPS to power the ultraRendu. This combo has elevated the sound quality noticeably.
I’m currently using Roon/ HQP —> Matrix. When I play DSD, the Matrix light turns blue, but the light often turns off, even while DSD is playing. I’ll look up, and sometimes the light is blue, sometimes there is no light even though there’s no disruption in the music. Is this normal?
