Are you using Furutech NCF plugs. How is the fit? I have heavy DIY power cord cables and have been told the AC-inlet holds well. (I am using the NCF plugs.)
Yes, Furutech (not NCF) plugs. But even with a standard plug its a very tight fit. Compared to the original inlet it is night and day and should even hold heavier cords in place.
Why did you have to go and make it weird?
Audiophileās are Playerās of recorded music but Greek Mythology and Odysseus and Sirenās Song
He put Beeswax in his ears to block the Sirenās. We put beeswax in our power lines to hear them better.
Then Odysseus hears the magical song of the Sirens as it floats over the summertime waters:
Odysseus, bravest of heroes,
Draw near to us, on our green island,
Odysseus, weāll teach you wisdom,
Weāll give you love, sweeter than honey.
The songs we sing, soothe away sorrow,
And in our arms, you will be happy.
Odysseus, bravest of heroes,
The songs we sing, will bring you peace.
Along with your demiseā¦
The sirens are monsters that the oracle Circe warned.
Yes history repeats!
I have long enjoyed manatees are the source of mermaid myths. The scientific name for manatees and is accordingly Sirenia.
Neat, wonderful animals.
Thanks for the nudge.
Hi @lonson
Iām curious if there is an audible benefit from running NewWave Phono Converter (NPC) through the DSSr across I2S as opposed to running analog out right into your pre-amp instead?
Thanks.
In my system, yes I feel there is. I prefer the sound coming out of the DSD to the sound of the analog out single-ended or balanced into my preamp (which is balanced, so balanced has an advantage, no conversion fitting needed). In part I think the analog signal out of the DSD is better, and a contributing factor I believe is that I have better cabling from the DSD to the preamp than I have available for the NuWave output.
Serhan, I ordered mine on Feb 1 and FedEx said a Saturday Feb 5 delivery. Great I say given the order page said April-May delivery! Well, FedEx felt it necessary to dampen the fun by sitting on the package for a few days, they ended up arriving the following Wednesday. Not a problem, but FedEx has delayed everything they have delivered for the past year.
I ordered the transformers just in case I decided to not go with the DS Mk II, but now Iām thinking I will just go for it since who knows when the DS Mk II will be available. Still on the fence on doing it myself versus wctaudio, so had a couple of questions. Did you use a dedicated desoldering station or a solder sucker? Did you cut the leads to the old transformers and desolder the leftover lead? I think I can handle this and donāt want to ship the board or be without the DS for a couple of weeks but screwing up the board wouldnāt be so great either.
Hi @pmotz
I strongly recommend outsourcing the job. The sonic improvement is magnificent, I may not upgrade for the next five years.
Do you have a picture of what was damaged? Just thinking it might be repaired by simply connecting a rework wire.

Good suggestion, thanks.
Ok sounds good. And where are you located?

Simple question - VH Audio is having a 30% off sale on fuses and I want to get the Synergistic ORANGE. Do we have a definitive answer on the size and rating for the fuse. I have seen small and large recommended as well as different rating - I was looking at this one (below). Nobody has the 1.25A in stock. Itās either 1A or 1.6A.
Synergistic ORANGE SLOW LARGE 1A Fuse
BTW, ordered the Edcor transformers earlier this week and the site said May for delivery. Arrived today.
thanks
If you can afford the purple then get that instead. I have replaced all my orange ones and not regretted it.
I can and I might but I still need to know the size and rating.
thanks
