What if we asked them to create a silver cable set for all ribbon cables in the DS?
Having the grounds between the signals in the right place matters, so having a ribbon cable instead of individual wires matters. Also having approx 100 ohms characteristic impedance is good. Cable should be female socket to female socket.
You probably won’t hurt anything with ribbon cable (which is built like the ribbon cables in the DS) made out of silver. I’m not sure you’ll help anything either. These are all digital signals and the connections between the digital and analog cards are differential pairs so they have pretty good signal integrity.
Hi, I am new here - buying a used DS DAC after buying a used BHK preamp. I have to say as I have scanned through this thread I am really awestruck at the comraderie, knowledge and skills of many of you that participate. I would like to get in on these shorting plugs but I guess I cannot respond on the link because I am new. If there is anyway for me to get in on this I would appreciate it. I am just barely getting into some simple streaming and would like to progress that going forward. I can also see doing some other mods but the shorting plugs seem like a real no brainer. Thank you.

The shorting plugs arrived today. Evidently not all shorting plugs are created equal. These definitely sound better than the ones I made! Thanks.
Yes. You are correct. Keeping the pins very short and proper shielding makes a huge difference. It takes about 45 minutes to build a pair and do it correctly and that’s after hours of practice.

Three weeks of warming up Lundahl have already passed, not enough of course, but curiosity exceeded rationality and I proceeded to the final stage of my mod, replacing AD8132 with AD8139. The 39s now get double clean power from a separate transformer and as much current as they need.
Everything went well, although the operation is not easy. The result is simply stunning! Everything that happened before fit into a certain linear process that developed within a certain tunnel. The low-level resolution was increased, the microdynamics were improved, the stage was moved apart, etc. But with the replacement of microcircuits, a kind of quantum leap took place, the transition from quantity to quality! It makes no sense to describe the sound, because I will have to use the same words as before, but they can no longer convey a new reality)))

I received mine too. Thanks! They look good! I do not know when I will use the HDMI since both of my I2S inputs are busy. But I still have the DS and will put USB plug on later.
12s1 is quieter. Be sure to plug number 2 and use best HDMI source into 1.
Right now, I use streamer for I2S 2 and PST for I2S 1. So maybe I will use the HDMI for my TV 
The USB plug seems to give a subtle improvement so far based on the streaming; I will listen to it more attentively later with PST.
The real synergy show silencing both.
My HT processor has like six HDMI inputs and I use 2. It doesn’t automatically switch so McIntosh might power them off. Perhaps after the DS is traded i can see if it adds anything. They never put in a USB to its DAC only RCa, optical and AES/EBU.
