When you do the VOCM mods, are you using a surface mount tantalum, or a much larger through-hole electrolytic cap?
Am I correct in thinking that the larger through-hole 'lytics are probably easier to mount onto the surface mount resistors than are the surface mount tants?

Your decision to delete a good number of your other posts in this thread does not appear to fix anything and is unfortunate, but we trust our members and allow users complete control over their posts. So it is your call.
I however encourage you to reconsider and to restore your posts. I suspect they are of interest to a good number here and unrelated to your decision to sell your DAC.

Is there a mod that will give the DAC a bit more air? Currently I wish there was a little more air and bass impact.

thanks! Iāve definitely seen many of the posts with different mods but itās hard to keep track of what does what lol. Didnāt know if any of the mods helped with air and bass impact in particular
Unfortunately, thatās going to be super subjective based on the rest of your gear.
Thereās several mods that should go together and thereās some that can be done alone.
If you want to try something on the easier side take a look at the recent postings regarding USB and I2S shorting plugs.
Did you have more air from another source component in your setup before or do you just desire more from the DS?
I just want to find out if youāre sure your setup will show more if itās available.

All Iāve done is swapped out DACs once getting this directstream. Iāve updated to Sunlight. Iāve used Violectric V800, NAD M51, Abbas, auditioned TT2 to name a few. I feel like the directstream is a little darker with less airiness and impact. Adding those would make it a killer DAC for me.
