I’m sure this will appeal to many and it is good of you to bring it to everyone’s attention.
For me, if I cannot pay cash for a toy (audio equipment, sports car, motorcycle, etc.) I cannot afford it. But I appreciate there are those that love debt.
From a Finance decision, the interest free financing is effectively a discount on a present value basis not available elsewhere.
I wasn’t thinking about whether it made it affordable for those on the edge!

It is one of the reasons I buy everything with a credit card. I am delighted to use another’s money, even if it is only for three weeks or so.
I tried to buy a new car with a credit card once. The salesman nearly passed out when I suggested it. He was much happier with a check.
I tried that on a Mercedes, they did let me make the deposit that way!
