Help me understand PS Audio trade in policy/credit

I’m getting ready to pull the trigger on the new Directstream MKII DAC. I would be trading in my Directstream DAC. The MK II cost 8000…lets assume I get 3500 for my Directstream 1. Thats a balance of 4500. Can someone explain how this credit towards a future purchase works ?
Also- Im in Ohio…would I have to pay sales tax on the new unit ?

Thank You in advance…and Merry Christmas to all.

Good question on if there’s sales tax if you live in a different state than Colorado.

I had put that link up too.

I did not get charged sales tax. Of-course, I plan to properly pay the state of IL, as required, to feed it’s insatiable appetite for more.

IL will not let anyone slide unless we are taxed and over taxed.

You’re a better man than I.

I thought the 3400 trade in is now 2400 or was that only for non psaudio dacs?

The larger trade in was valid through the end of January, so it’s now $2400.
