I’m not familiar with Mye’s models, so I can’t say which they are. I know you can’t see these from the front of the speakers. He sent me the photo below after installing them, along with a front shot, which I haven’t attached, since you can’t see anything. I should mention he also milled and painted some slabs of 3/4" MDF to add additional mass on the base of the stands.
I only get to his place once or maybe twice a year for short visits. And since I haven’t been there when he’s implemented various improvements, I can’t say what specifically the stands brought to the equation. I can tell you is the sum total of the system, stands included, is amazing, and the best I’ve personally experienced, at least on the type of music he listens to, which is usually avant-garde classical. When we’ve played some of the popular music I bring on my visits, things get a little boomy, which makes me suspect popular and classical recordings are generally mastered differently, for different purposes. Whatever the cause, it’s an issue he doesn’t feel compelled to address, since he doesn’t listen to other kinds of music. Kind of like I don’t feel the need to add an active crossover to my system just to cleanly play synthesized ultra-low frequencies, since they tend to appear mostly in contemporary pop music I never listen to.
