New Network Switch: LHY AS-6

They have an annual dinner Saturday night at Axpona. The secret society meets. Great dinner, probably no secrets, and few rituals.

@paul172 is my latest convert. He wasn’t really too interested. He had just gotten some new feet that have oil-filled cups. The gear gets feet that float in the oil. He thought that he noticed more secret messages in the songs after getting those feet. Of course he used them first on his modem. He is going to try them on power supply for his switch next. *not both at the same time!

Anyway, I brought my B4M setup to him, and this time, I didn’t blow a speaker making a filter. (So sorry my friend!) I hooked the gear up, made ORC and XTC filters and we played the special tune we picked in advance. I was totally stunned. It sounded better at his house than any of the four or five I can visit. How can this be? Turns out, his Martin Logan CLS electrostats, which are dipoles, are a huge advantage. The soundstage is the widest and taller than any systems I have heard. Electrostats eh?

Funny thing though, the soundstage is so believable and everything is exactly where it should be. But the space seems to point out details you wouldn’t normally pick up on. Like the odd noises his NAS makes as it’s in the room. Anyway, it’s extraordinary. Seems nice here too. Whew.

I hope @paul172 says a few words about his new feet for his modem. And maybe mentions BACCH.
