Ohms my G...? 16/11/8/4 or ...2?

someone ask me a question, and I’m not sure the answer is:

Does a 4 ohms speaker, Would damage a 8 Ohms amplifier?

Does a 11/16 ohms, Would damage 8 ohms Amplifier?

what do you think?

A 4 Ohm speaker don’t destroy anything but if you had a 2 or even a 1 Ohm speaker, Infinity Kappa 8 and 9, it could start to burn depending on how your amplifier is constructed.

A 8 ohms Amplifier is ultra-secure from being damaged by a 11/16 ohms speaker.

thanks, So the lower They are the more problem you could have so I better have 4 Ohms to make it work!

4 Ohm is twice as hard for the amplifier than what 8 is and 2 ohm is 4 times as hard for the amplifier than what 8 is so yes, the lower the ohm is the more problematic it is for the amplifier.

So better found a tube amp, with 4 Ohms than!

Dali Kupid are 4 Ohms and bookshelf and 83db efficient!

So won’t work on a 300B at 8watts?

I have to find something else for him!

83db speakers are very low sensitivity so I doubt small tube amps would work in any normal sized room. Many tube amps have selectable impedance, usually offering a couple of difference impedances.

one last:

4 Ohms amps on 8 Ohms speakers?

I don’t know what you mean with a 4 Ohm amp since that don’t exist.

Even if a loudspeaker says it is 8 ohm it COULD destroy your amplifier.

Infinity Kappa 9 SAYS it is an 8 ohm speaker but that speaker goes BELOW 1 Ohm in the deepest bass so to bee sure how a loudspeaker will affect your amplifier you must figure out what the lowest impedance that speaker goes down to is.

good morning
