Kindly asking for help, since Apple stop support there old gear, it appear we could do whatever we want with it!
I have a fantastic mini, that I can’t connect anymore to iTunes or music! it is not allowed! it play music well and have Spdif/optical out, that is superbe sounding!
anyone knows where or how to swap it, and make a google computer with it! or Linux friend?
Friend of mine came back from poor country after a mission and there they took old computer they received and rebuild the software to make them work in google or linux!
apparently, our computer are very good, and it is software that made them a mess!
Anyone did that?
thanks for helping, just want good sound! only a music software on it with Spdif function! I have try to upgrade browser but no success!
I had an old MacBook Pro from the 2015 era. A high spec model at the time (intel i7). As with all things, redundancy sets in. I had been using this for my roon server duties until I could no longer update to current versions of Mac OS and Roon.
Searching through youtube, I discovered many videos of workarounds on getting the latest MacOS on it. A couple of links here - but see what you prefer.
as long as I could use iTunes with his random album I’m happy with it
also music on Apple has better option than music on Windows!
Just for fun I install iTunes on my old air and it sound even better than on my old windows!
So Apple play better
but thanks I am not really a YouTube or social media user I’m sort of the old type I search and read what I need to do! I found that watching video exhausting!
my computer don’t have a safari working for those website, so Linux than!
with price of computer skyrocking, maybe fun to experiment cheaper way!
I was not able to move the OS to a newer version for now
The browser is too old to perform a correct update or use modern Streaming application…
I decide I’m gonna use it as a replacement for my old NAS with his 2T
And since it has Infrared apple remote and optical output to play music in spdif, it’s gonna be my jukebox for now! Love the fact that it plays random album! Not random song
on my DAC, it play very well the music I store his hard drive.
a fun thing I am able to fully display art cover on the monitor!
