Very nice. The cat statue in the “Waitin’” photo is kinda creepy. Its face almost has human elements and made me think of Bastet ( Bastet is the Egyptian goddess of the home, domesticity, women’s secrets, cats, fertility, and childbirth. She protected the home from evil spirits and disease, especially diseases associated with women and children.)

@DuneKidd is the third picture Alice Tully Hall?

It’s the original Whitney Museum on 75th and Madison. After having gone through several iterations since the Whitney moved out, the building is now in the process of renovation for Sotheby’s. This will become their world headquarters.

When I first approached what I thought was an actual cat just soaking up the sun, it did throw me for a loop, also. I’m thinking its a subtle joke on pedestrians who, like myself, mistook it as real.

Nice snippets of dIly life. I find the black and white images more appealing. Color could be a distraction unless it is the focus!

I hear ya. I’ve been meaning to purchase a camera that allows for more functionality and versatility than my cell phone camera allows. Not having the same needs as professional photographers, I would prefer something not too complex to operate in the settings I find myself in most times. I tend to photograph moments in time rather than actual compositional items. It’s just the nature of the environment I live in. At some point, I’d like to do some night time photography, which cellphone cameras seem to overcompensate for with their light sensors. This is all a pleasant hobby for me.

“Good Morning, Capetown!”
Capetown, South Africa
We got up super early that morning.
Hiking with only headlamps in the predawn blackness, we spiraled up Lion’s Head Mountain until we got to a high enough vantage point to capture the first light of sun on Table Mountain (in the background.)
After a brief rest, we continued up Lion’s Head Mountain until we reached the top.
What a glorious morning to be alive in South Africa!
