Kurt Masur last month and now maestro Boulez.
I’ll spend this week listening to his Bartok, Ravel and Stravinsky work.
+1. I had the pleasure of seeing/hearing Kurt Mazur conduct on more than one occasion, but never had the same opportunity with Boulez. The greats are passing, but there are some younger conductors who show promise.
Yes, too many excellent musicians disappearing. But there are definitely some young conductors who are superb, with the energy and style to entice listeners.
