Question for Mr. Smith please. About toslink

Yes, these are ADC settings and then listening to the raw recordings, sans processing.

It may simply be a quirk of gain staging, excetera. I have learned however to experiment and not make assumptions as to what will sound the best.

ā€œMichigan’s in the Rearview now ā€¦ā€ (I’m relating to that)…

The handcerchief is not an affectation - his vintage guitar buzzes if you don’t mute it.

Again - a single mic.

I haven’t read the whole thread yet, but Ted (I also haven’t figured out how to tag), I tried to use the toslink input tonight from an Audioquest Beetle, and the lock light stays red. What might I be doing wrong?

I’m afraid of heights so I will stay here (in Michigan).

If you have never used the TOSLink before, the first time or two that you use it it’s pretty tight. You may not have pressed it in until it ā€œclicksā€. The cable connector has a shoulder that should be flush against the TOSLink socket on the DS.
