Quote of the Day

From my excerpt above. My favorite observation from it.

Given how long The Doors of Stone has taken to appear I expect it will be a good deal longer wait.

I’ve always questioned the validity and veracity of dang near everything we were taught as ‘history’. And the further back in time - even less accuracy must exist. Considering how truths get bent over continued shares, rumors snowball, details tend to evolve to favor of the tellers or the heroes and the science behind memories themselves (one does not remember an event - we just recapture the last recollection of that event).
Grade Five Teacher: In 857 BC, it is known that this happened after that was said which triggered an event and the other was the miraculous result!
Yeah? According to WHOM?
I’m pretty certain that much of the details of our taught history are quite flawed in their accuracy.
Hell, I can’t recall what I had for lunch last Tuesday…

Sorry the topic was Quotes…
Money is the root of all evil!
(Actually the quote was really ‘The love of money is a root of all sorts of evil’…)

Two to append to this:

“History is written buy the victors.”

Think about any King dictating to his scribe what to write in the book and how it was forced to be taken as gospel. :exploding_head:

“I’m vile and perverted.
I’m obsessed and deranged.
I’ve existed for years but very little has changed.
I’m the tool of the government and industry too.
For I’m destined to rule and regulate you.
You may think I’m pernicious, but you can’t look away.
I’ll make you think I’m delicious with the stuff that I say.
I’m the best you can get… have you guessed me yet?
I’m the slime oozing out of your TV set…”

The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much it is whether we provide enough for those who have little.

Edit: Added strict search to the string. Without ‘safesearch’ it certainly is not too racy in my opinion but may be for some.

It’s interesting to be 20 years younger than 75 and 35 years older than 20. I wouldn’t change it if I could.
