Even a small machine or wood screw carefully advanced just until it grabs may do it.
Unfortunately none of the suggestions worked (I think the break distorted the tip to form a ‘lip’ that impedes clearance from the terminal). So I’ve moved to Plan B - using speaker cables with spade terminals until I am sufficiently motivated to ship the unit to Luxman’s service place in Hudson Valley, NY to get the broken BFA out or replace the terminal. I will never use BFAs again.
I’d like to thank everyone for the feedback - if nothing else, it eased the pain!!

Risky but I also apply this method once.
Use copper wire and tin it a little with solder.
Press the wire into the broken pin and heat the copper wire until the tin binds to the broken pin.
The tin should bond only to the broken pin and not to the amplifier terminals.

Thanks - I’m resigned to getting Luxman’s service techs to remove the broken BFA tip.
That also seems like the right choice to me.
No need for Ghostbusters! As a final outreach I contacted Albert Sportis of Precision Audio in Chicago who sold me the Luxman amp. Albert had had previous experience with extracting broken BFAs from speaker terminals. At his recommendation I purchased 6 different #6 screws from my local hardware store using an intact BFA as a guide. The #6 machine screw went in but would not grip. Bummer! The #6 wood screw which had a more pronounced thread bit the broken BFA
and the tip came out
Two unfortunately blurry photos with and without the broken BFA on the tip.
Thanks to Albert who saved me a $1000 in not sending the unit for Luxman for repair - boy has Fedex got expensive!
Thanks again to everyone for your input.
Mike
Albert to the rescue, a disguised Ghosst Buster if ever there was one!
Purcased my Luxman L-509X from him as well, Great Guy!
Job well done! Now back to the music…
When I get my new spade terminated speaker cables
Alleluia!
You should not have an issue with quality banana plugs. Looks like the ones that gave you trouble were not quite up to snuff.
That said, I understand you’re wanting to just go a different direction.
Cheers.
You are probably correct but if I were to ever consider bananas in the future they’d have to be WBTs!!
Steer clear of the Cardas bananas with the split pin and little ball between them. Not a fan as IME oddly enough they tended to work their way out of the terminals.
