Speaker cables what are you using for your system?

Are you using them with TAD Compact Reference CR1?

I would try Triode Wire Labs or Audio Envy. Both are Internet Direct with free trials for standard lengths. I own both and they are both really good cables. Another option is the Audio Sensibility OCC cables and they have a similar trial period. I don’t put a lot of faith in “manufacturer recommendations” that involve a business relationship.

I’m on a fairly budget system, currently using a Naim Muso digital speaker as have space issues so no cables, but now upgrading to some bookshelves.

Looking at some Audioquest Rocket 33 biwire cable but single terminated. Have heard excellent things about it and found a retailer here in UK offering 2m lengths terminated at half price!

I’m using them with a JL Audio CR1 and Martin Logan CLX Art speakers.

I love my AudioEnvy cables, too! I was recently almost 100% AE (minus USB and HDMI and one or two OM LPS cables). AE never let me down, but have been curious about a few companies with great products. I imagine that I’ll have a bit of a mix when it’s all said and done.

If I was already using Cardas interconnects I personally would stick with Cardas speaker cable. I’m not sure if it matters but I like keeping synergy when using cables.

I’ve got one system cabled with an AE loom and one with a TWL loom. Both great cables from really good guys but just slightly different sound. I would see if Pete at TWL would let me try a set.

The Rocket 33 is great value for money. A pair of used Martin Logan 35XT bookshelf speakers would be a good addition. The older version had better finishing, removable metallic grills, solid aluminum front baffle. They’re not too fussy with directionality and have well designed bass reflex ports.

I haven’t taken off whatever Iconoclast speaker cables I bought from someone on this forum. The Sigma cables are packed away. The Analysis Plus cables are sold. (I regret selling them)
These Iconoclast cables complete me.

I’m now using PS Audio xStream Reference in my main system for speaker cables, replacing the Statement. A step up.

Iconoclast OFE but I have an urge to try something different on the main system.
My relentless curiosity can be financially unhealthy.

Tried Cardas and TWL (both good and used in friends systems), but ended up with Iconoclast OFE with my current setup.

I do think it is system dependent; so if you’ve already tried Cardas, I would recommend auditioning both TWL and Iconoclast to see if either works well in your rig.

I have two friends who can’t stop babbling about how much they love their Audience Front Row cables.
I’m thinking of blocking them.

I feel the same about the iconoclast!

Audio sensibility statement 2.5 meters: great value and quite happy may move up to their signature line.

One thing that I’m not sure if I mentioned in my recommendation of the Audioquest Thunderbird speaker cables are like the M1200s they also need a minimum of a couple hundred hours before they really start to sound phenomenal. If you plug them in for a couple hours and are let down don’t feel bad! I was somewhat dismayed when I first heard them but after they burn in they sound better and better with time!

I have listened to many, owned quite a few, but, for my speaker/amp combo, the good old M2.4 cables sound extremely good in my setup.

I think I’m blaming these Cardas snakes I’m auditioning for what is really a massive system change from McIntosh SS pre/amp to PS Audio BHK/1200s. It’s so warm and it sounds like something’s wrong, or bottled to me, for that reason. TBD. Might plug in the old pre with the same snakes before reverting back to the thing that wasn’t broken I decided to fix. Thought I was getting used to the sound before the speaker cables, but perhaps not.

Iconoclast TPC for me

What specifically did you go from and to? It sounds like an interconnect was changed?
