STEALTH Power Cords

Simplified question: Which cable do I need? The Audioquest Dragon might be the bottleneck. The Furutech Project V1 might sound similar to a Dream 20-20. Should I therefore choose a Dream 20-20 and use it for my power strip instead of the Project V1? The V1 could then be used instead of the Dragon for the Marantz Link-10n (preamp and streamer, similar to the MU2). Will a Dream 20-20 also work with the preamp? Or I could choose a Cloude Grande and use it with the Marantz Link-10n.
What’s the difference in sound between the Dream 20-20 and the Cloud Grande? Is the Dream 20-20 warmer than the Cloud Grande? Is the Cloud Grande LE brighter than the Cloud Grande CU?
I need to see if there’s a dealer near me who can lend me a Stealth Audio cable. Maybe I’ll ask my dealer if they can lend me a Furutech Project V1 so I can try out a “full loom” V1. But maybe that’s overkill. Maybe I don’t need any other cable anymore. :face_with_hand_over_mouth: I just shouldn’t read your experiences with the Stealth Audio cables. :joy:

Nothing simple since your system is quite different from ours. But I believe you should start from the wall first. That is why I started with a Dream 2020 from the wall to PZ, because it benefits all components directly.

The next most important device in a digital system is DAC, it is more important than a pre in my system for sure (when I had a BHK pre and DS MK2). The consensus is a C.G. works better than a Dream 2020 here. That is why my next target will be a C. G. but which one is the question.

I hope I will stop there.

Perhaps my question is: Furutech Project V1 vs. Dream 20-20. Is it worth it, or are the two similar? If I choose a Dream 20-20, should I use it for my power strip and the V1 for the Marantz Link-10n? Is a Project V1 optimal for the Marantz Link-10n? A Cloude Grande would be better in this case than the Dream 20-20 or the V1… Then I should opt for a Cloude Grande if I’m considering adding a stealth audio cable to my system.

As far as I know, you’re the only one using that V1 power cord, so you maybe the only one that can answer your own question.

Hi Andreas, in my experience I got the best results from the Dream 2020 feeding the PowerZone. Lately also feeding the DAC (but I have the MSB DAC separated from the MSB Digital Director, which is a different kind of set up).

On the other hand I found that the best way to use the CG is feeding the server (Innuos Statement).

I agree with Donald, your power strip and cords are different, so you should try STEALTH cables in your own system to find out what happens. In your shoes I’d start from the Dream 2020.

Thanks, Luca. When I first connected the Furutech Projekt V1 from the wall to my Furutech Vault power strip, it was a huge step toward a more realistic sound. Simply, every aspect was improved compared to the Furutech DPS-4.1. The difference wasn’t as noticeable on the mono power amps. For the Marantz Link-10n, I used your Dragon Source and a Furutech DPS-4.1. The Dragon sounds well defined, but the DPS-4.1 has a nicer midrange. It’s a compromise. I’m considering using the Dream 20-20 to power the power strip and the Projekt V1 for the Marantz Link-10n. Or maybe a Cloude Grande for the Marantz. Do you think the Dream 20-20 would work with the Marantz? (Preamp/DAC/Streamer) If the V1 works better for me on the power strip? It’s clear to me that it’s best to test it out in a system. I’ll wait until I find a reasonably priced Dream 20-20 or a Cloude Grande. Perhaps a Cloude Grande would also be a good choice for the Marantz Link-10n. Best regards, Andreas

I think that the Dream 2020 works well even with an electric toothbrush!

The last song I will play before disconnecting Stealth and returning them to Greg is going to be “The Thrill is Gone” by Patricia Barber

Once you get the Diablo 333 your cord situation will be more positive. Lose the Preamp you love so much and it’s partner amplifier. Only one 2020 needed. And when you finally set that Infinity thing aside you will be happier. All of this playing around with this and that is just a weird way to spend your time. It is counterproductive.

Experimenting with cables and amps and preamps and dac’s is fun to me. This is what it’s all about. Either that, or I am completely imagining that cables sound different from one another, according to that one guy.

Hmmm…… not quite sure about that. I thought it was about enjoying the music!
