STEALTH Power Cords

I use a cheaper version lifter for my Stealth and other biggies.

They can support Stealth with ease. However, when I get the QSA power cords that wights 20 lbs. I may use the bigger version like the one in your post.

Don, which cable is that from Zenwave? I talked to Dave for about an hour yesterday. He lives down the road from me. I am looking at some of his IC cables to demo between components, the D4.2 and Kumihimo.

BTW, I demo’d Turnbull power cables ($25K 2M each) and Turnbull XLR cables ($19K for 2M) a few weeks ago. Beautifully constructed and best my system has ever sounded. Almost too transparent to the point poorly recorded/engineered music is just unlistenable. First time I ever wanted to hunt down the sound engineer and do bad things. But the price points are not within my system budget. Speaker cables, which I did not demo, are $44K for 8 feet…just a bridge to far for me. But if I did have the budget, and the cable investment represented <15% of my system investment (liberal use of the word), I would put Turnbull at the top of the list. I am also very content with Dream 2020s for power at present and a The Grande PC in the works.

I have only demoed two power cords from Dave, Zenwave PSR-11 and PSR-14. PSR-11 is designed for power components and PSR-14 is for sources. The number is conductor gauge, and I really like their pure-silver ribbon SQ in my previous system. However, I like PSR-11 better for both power and source components. I ended up purchasing PSR-11. It is still one of my best power cords because it is on the same level as Stealth Cloude Grande, but I think The Grande is a little better. I cannot compare them since PSR-11 has C-19 plug and is used for Gryphon D333, and CGLE and The Grande have C-15 plugs. You cannot go wrong with Zenwave PSR power cords, but they need over 1,000 hours of break in as Dave told me. Even his demo PCs took a couple hundred hours to wake up in my system, very interesting design. In fact I remember I still hear improvement around 1,500 hours.

Zenwave PSR line sounded quite a bit better than AQ Dragon PCs in my system, much fuller sound.

Any Axpona show goers will see a full dose of stealth cabling if you visit 1527 Kyomi/MBL a lot of Stealth cables!

I believe you. But exactly therein lies the problem: Assuming monoblocs, preamp, DAC, Transport, TV, Streamer, Power Conditioner, Network Switch and the resultant multitude of power cables and interconnects - each of which would have to be run in for optimal sound …

Assuming the above, somebody like myself who has mercifully recovered from quite serious upgradetitus would never reach musical nirvana. I’ve been “sober” for about a month now.

Kii speakers solve all of that. Amps, DACs, streamers, all built in. Probably no need for subs either. If all you do is stream you don’t need anything else. Included cables get the job done nicely. And the results sound extraordinary.

Given your system I wouldn’t have thought you’d be speaking about changing horses during the race.

Are these the model you have in mind? Certainly impressive visually.

Yes sir! The top of each tower is the Model 3. The bottom of each tower is the BXT. Listening to just the top I could be very, very happy. Adding the bottom is a nice increase in goodness. At the show they had these speakers, and the new model 7 which is a very small stand mount speaker. The 7 sounds like 93% of the tower. The 7 doesn’t even require anything other than power. It’s all WIFI. All of this sounds like snake oil, but the sound they create is extraordinary. The key to the design is the Cardioid dispersion from each individual driver. Cardioid means it beams the signal straight ahead. There is little if any sound dispersed to the right or left or back. The end result is room interaction is greatly reduced. And the amount of crosstalk between the speakers is also greatly reduced. The soundstage is deep, tall, and very wide. It extends well beyond the left and right. It sounds very much like what I hear with my BACCH units. But without BACCH. Totally black background. The sound appears out of nowhere. The speed of these speakers makes the attack instantaneous. The decay absolutely clean until the sound vanishes. Localization of each element of the sound is very precise.

I spent at least 3 hours listening to them. On Sunday I spent an hour alone with the folks from Kii. I asked if cables make a difference. They said they have tried all sorts of Audiophile cables and they don’t matter. (I didn’t ask about fuses, but they did say feet matter)(whew!).

I have been aware of these for a long time, I had just never heard them. The were using Qobuz Connect, the controller and each pair of speakers. No room correction anything. Bare walls, and chairs only in the hotel room. The sweet spot is wide, the sound can be frightening the way it comes out of nowhere. Live recordings sounded more real than anything I have yet experienced.

What was really cool was they played a song on the towers, then again on the stand mount model. The stand mount, model 7, could take care of most people. I like the added benefits of the tower system, and feel the price is very reasonable. Considering no amp or preamp or Stealth Cable or possibly even BACCH processing is needed is exciting.

I have so much gear in my listening room. So very many cables, it can all go. It won’t be as impressive to look at but I am certain it will sound better. Fun!

Thank you for going into the detail. It was really helpful in getting the “why” of what makes the speakers perform the way they do. All I can say is if you do go this route, then enjoy!

Let me know when you are having a garage sale, and I will fly overnight there.

But no one else will be impressed by your system anymore! Zero, Nada! No one is going to care if you have the best sound ever in your room. Your cable collection alone can afford a couple of these Kii. The name itself sounds quite weak next to Gryphon, Stealth, and even BACCH that I am no longer interested to get.

You will soon want to buy something costing serious money, before the next Axpona show for sure.

That is what makes me very sad. It will just look like something I got at Best Buy. No bowling pin ice cream cone speakers. No giant amplifier that screams “Penis Envy!”. No firehouse sized cables.

My wife is so excited she went to the website to look at color options. She totally approves of this plan.

She isn’t happy, but she is definitely less pissed. My daily goal.

I listened to many speakers at Axpona, including the new version of my Vivids. The Kii were way out in front. Dutch and Dutch 8Cs next. There was no third place. Active speakers rule.

No Gryphon at show, No @ronp , no Edgar no Bacch demonstrations worthy of a listen. George is no longer a Gryphon dealer Jeremy is out at MBL, Al is talking active speakers. Someone wake me when it’s over! Did hell freeze over this weekend?

Hauling that Apex out of the basement will be like pulling Excalibur out of the stone! My goodness.

Nice review of the Kit/BXT with Ps Audio digital gear….

Wow, I am looking forward to buying the next generation of Gryphon Diablo 666 from him. Sad.

Al, can you please come in again after your crapulense is over? All of this just doesn’t sound like you, or does it?
Maybe you still feel the same way, that’s fine by me. Just confirm!
Coincedently, I’m enjoying Dub side of the moon, maybe the reason of being side tracked myself!

You need to go to more shows, Al! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: The Kii 3s were introduced at AXPONA in 2016! I remember the premier very well. I was quite impressed, although at the time their onboard digital processing wasn’t quite as good as the higher end stuff of the time. That has gotten way better, though. That full stand mount combination is at a friend’s house about 30 minutes from me. I’ve heard it quite a few times. A person could spend a lot more and not do anywhere near as well.

Wait, what??? What the hell is going on? Where did Jeremy go?

This is all because you were not at Axpona Ron! Thanks

And you didn’t buy a Powerzone!

Pro audio embraced these speakers some time ago.
