BTW, just a bit off topic,
Is there any one here use CXN V2 as transport to SGCD and use the control bus on CXN to ON/OFF the GCD ? what cable ( or DYI) you recommend ?
Finally my M700s came.
Start breaking in for serveral days. But just unbox and hear how they sound first.
SO AMAZING, better better … much better than my old combo CXN V2 and CXA81, even with the digital preamp of CXN streamer.
The Allan Taylor albums sound so sweet with very detail and clarity of high and mid, the bass so tight and powerful. I don;t know how much can be better with the SGDS coming next week and add to the system. Too happy for now. can’t ask for more. ha ha ha
Current system:
M700s power amp
CNX V2 as digital preamp and streamer
Monitor Audio Silver 100
Aperion Audio MKII Planar-Ribbon Super Tweeter
REL T7i sub with High Input Level cable
AudioQuest Mackenzi XLR interconnect
Siesta Lab speaker cable
…
Just a photo of the new M700s stay in place where it belong to.
This is my living room when my son and i read books and listen to music when having time.
There is still one slot on top of the two M700s, it will be the SGCD , they will be all filling the space of upper tray of the bookself.
Only one thing not perfect that the AudioQuest Rocket 33 speaker cable not coming yet, it is damn slow shipping.
Will play some internet radio station over the night to break in the M700s
I don’t have the issue of HUM when connect the REL T7i to the two M700s at very first place, and when turns ON/OFF no matter what sub or M700 which one first/after, work as expect, the REL DOES go standby after 30 minutes of inactive as designed. I just connect the red and yellow cores to the + on both binding post of two M700s , the ground just connect to one of the M700 for single sub, rather straight away, no trick at all. Still don’t know why serveral people still having that issue.

Nice report
Thanks for the report! Very glad to hear you’re loving the system. A nice looking setup as well!
Now you understand why I’m so confused some folks have trouble and others don’t. A majority of people are like you and don’t have any hum problems at all.
Nice looking setup. A pair of white Gold 200s would look really good!
Yeah, white satin color of Gold 200s G5 will be great step up. It is in the to-do list now.
I am so glad you are happy. Now I need to update my speakers in future so I can take advantage of the m700.
Although for me Friday tomorrow is D Day. Go no go. I have taken them out of the system but will give them one last go on Friday. I am mailing something to Colorado on Saturday.
@scott.wright
you know what, just like you i love the new M700s, but i think the m700s is just a part of the total picture, to me the speakers is more critical than the amp , i don’t mean amp is not critical, just in my priority list, it is just #2, cabling is #3, power plant, filtering… is #4
Having a good speakers is long term investment, once you have the good speakers, you can be sure about the sounding part, no doubt about it any more, you just stay focus on other thing like DAC, interconnect, … power filter etc, but these things can be no rush at all.
I’m thinking over and over again choosing the MA gold 200 vs gold 100 to upgrade the sounding part, since my room is quite smal and the current silver 100s are still good enough and financial perspective, but i finally go for Gold 200 standing floor because i eventually do it now or later, so forget the bookselfs and move up to 3 ways system speakers. If we are not assured for the sounding part, we keep wondering again and again why the sound is going on like that despite the DAC, amp, interconnect upgraded I did. These questions still be arround the head, and haunting for a while.
So i make decision to go for the speakers upgrade instead of the DAC, or CD player, streamer, roon ready, tdial and other sh!ts… M700s can be the choice for now, but it can be another one if we find some other things intertesting, I may change if need with allowed budget.
Now I need to update my speakers in future so I can take advantage of the [m700]

Just some thoughts , dont bother if you decided where to go. Your call
