An Indianapolis quintet that sadly just disbanded a year or two ago. The group was a creative outlet for several members of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Kind of quirky original compositions, and a stellar recording.

I recommend starting with the Pepperoni Grande track, and don’t be afraid to turn it up.
Harriet Tubman comes to Chicago and Madison this weekend. Those considering attending should strongly consider earplugs, as the last HT concert I attended sound levels were 122-126dB, at the pain threshold. My hearing recovered in four days, and I wore etymotic earplugs.
This particular Tubman release featuring Wadada Leo Smith is my preferred due to the texture provided by Wadada’s trumpet.
