The guy that founded Giant Step Arts (photographer Jimmy Katz) apparently is responsible for all the album covers….they all are similar. I have really enjoyed everything I’ve heard from this label. Mark Turner’s ‘Live at the Village Vanguard’ is another excellent set, but digital-only and not available on the streaming services, so I had to download it….
Drummer Harris Eisenstadt seems to have gone into hibernation, he hasn’t released anything new in quite a while. His ‘Canada Day’ group releases are all excellent. This is from 2009.
A very heavy, spacey record…this sounds different from what I remember their early music sounding like, not so frenetic, I’ll have to revisit some previous records. This one is real good and sounds real good, Another Pi Recordings release,
