Likewise. I enjoy listening to nearly all of Anouar Brahem’s albums. Another one that comes to mind is “Blue Maqams”!

I had forgotten this was the first RCA release by Desmond, putting him in a much different setting than a quartet setting, probably a smart move but time has proven this to be less discussed than those that followed on RCA.

I like this though, and yet. . . even with Jim Hall. . . I miss the blend of Desmond and Brubeck, it’s like sweet and sour, or just the right blend of spices in a curry.

The 1940 Music Box and the 1943 Schirmer recordings.

Many greats on board including Brad Gowans, Eddie Condon, Ernie Caceras, George Wettling, Joe Bushkin, Max Kaminsky and Bud Freeman.

Kenny Burrell with Tommy Flanagan Trio. Track 2 is a favorite. Halfway it settles into a relaxed swing mode!
