No one has stated searching for better sound, digital or vinyl, is a fool’s errand.
Most here engage in this pursuit on a regular basis.
Edit: It also strikes me you may be unfamiliar with the old idiom, a fool’s errand. This is not an insult, but a description of the task at hand.
A fool’s errand is futile task, a task with little hope of success. Here, putting together a digital front end which sounds just like vinyl, or making vinyl sound just like digital. Or modifying a Bentley to handle like a Ferrari.
Paul’s idea, which should be patented, for vector recording/processing/production to outshine all digital and maybe vinyl as well merits development. He did a video about it about a month ago.

That’s not to dispel the basic notion (which I write while trying to figure out a turntable purchase.) Just pointing out the comparison is dated.
