Value of replacing power cables with a P5? Can you put a "subjective" % to it?

Give it a week or so of use as well, it will change sound a bit. (For the better). Congrats!

Well, I did it, and I managed not to blow up the house

What was the “it” that you did? As in - what cable(s) did you get?

BTW - 100% agree about letting it settle in for a week or two before forming any firm conclusions.

@austinpop I swapped out the P5 stock power cable with AC-5.

For a while now, I’ve been happy with my P5, along with these cables:

  1. AC-12 from wall to P5
  2. Pangea AC-9SE MkII from P5 to amp
  3. Pangea AC-14XL from P5 to DAC
  4. Pangea AC-14SE MkII from P5 to various PSUs for digital sources
But the comments of @lonson and @I'll be Bach have made me wonder: would my AC-12 make a bigger impact if connected from the P5 to my amp?

I plan to try an experiment where I swap the AC-12 with my AC-9, and see what effect that has, if any.

Well, I tried a day with the AC-12 and Pangea AC-9 swapped, and just flipped them back.

Hot dang! That AC-12 is a fine cable. In my system, it sounds way better between the wall and the P5. Swapping positions causes a noticeable drop in bass depth, a drop of dynamics, and a drop of perceived resolution.

I guess I have to dig deep (ouch) and buy a few more. I can only imagine what an improvement an all-AC-12 setup will get!

It is a pity that PS Audio cables have not been certified for use in Australia.

What other power cables would ppl suggest using instead?
