Saschal Vasandani and Romain Collin - Midnight Shelter.

Buddy of mine sent the 2nd track, “Before You Go” the other night. I was familiar with Collin from this rekkid:

And that is a recording I often think of lately when people start arguing about recorded piano sound.

My initial reaction to the vocal sound was that it was very “Chet Baker Sings” or Jeff Buckley. Not that those are negatives. But the next day listened again on the ‘meilleur systeme’ which renders vocals spookily, and sorta lost it.

Then researched the song (the album contains a lot of covers) and found that it is by a young-ish Scottish singer-songwriter, Lewis Capaldi, from his album “Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent”. I may be revealing my cluelessness, as the Official Version of the video has 224 million views.

Sublime

THAT is the amount of LIME I am talkin’ about, man!:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Sheesh. Why do I want a G&T now?

Only one?

Well, they really suck. But that reminds me of working at Mr. Flood’s Party in Ann Arbor, MI. as a bouncer after college. It was a place where staff collectively and visibly imbibed in front of the customers. The shot of choice was referred to as a “Mini” - basically a shot of Gimlet. Shaker of cracked ice, half filled with Stoli, generously doused with fresh limes, and tinted with Rose’s lime juice (which was better then - trust me). Shaken vigorously and strained into shot glasses and downed by all present in one.

Crap - now want to go get Stoli and limes🤷🏻‍♂️
