My favorite Uncle Tupelo album featuring production by Peter Buck (of REM fame). More acoustic than their others stuff to great effect.
That s one of Charles Lloydâs earlie performances I was not aware of. From what a gather its is a double CD release on the Hi Hat label? A bootleg possibly as Discogs lists it as unauthorized. So my questions are who are the players and how is the sound considering. From Discogs they seem to be air checks:
Disk 1 : 1-5 Gyllene, Cirkeln Stockholm, Sweden April 29th 1966 P2 Broadcast
Disk 1: 6-9 Juan-les-Pins Jazz Festival, Antibes
Disk 2: 1-2 Studio 1, Cologne October 25th 1966 WDR3 Broadcast (with Orchestra Kurt Edelhagen)
Disk 2: 3-5 Guerzenich, Cologne October 26th 1966 WDR3 Broadcast
A fine set of Art Pepper.
New on Qobuz. HR. Accompanied C17 French songs in a range of styles. Pleasant soprano. The sound has a live feel to it, for good and ill. Pleasant listening. No back cover image found.
