It’s worth checking his Instagram page just to see the piles of ancient test equipment (including nuclear counters and the like) and tape machines he presses into service - “will it music” is his refrain whenever he gets some new old bit of equipment from eBay

I suspect he was walked on stage to his wheel chair when I did see him, but who knows, it’s a while ago now, and until I speak to those who were with me I can’t be sure (not that it matters, but I’m used to my memory being crystal clear, which it seems to be rather less as the years roll by )
Your difficulty remembering the actual events of the last John Martyn gig is down to sleeping through it
