Essential in a functioning democracy, and this year in particular. I’d rather it was a song calling out his cronyism, corruption, and the tens of thousands of deaths he could have avoided had he been a good leader, but it’s still funny.
A few years ago RATM was Christmas number one and it was a splendid thing
You may be talking about a relatively recent accident in which the rider had a direct impact with that most feared of objects - a tree. His spine was saved by his inflatable collision vest. He recovered well but has sold his stable of bikes and given up the hobby.
There is a saying around here about motorcycle riders. Two type or riders, one who has gone down and the other will be going down. I fit the first, been down twice but without much of injuries.
Is this a wind-up for Christmas. Do you seriously expect me to comment on the Boris song and/or repeat the lyrics. Earlier this year Elk issued me with another warning, a red letter warning, for bad etiquette and breaking forum protocol. Well, if I start singing the Boris song, I will be serving a full Brodric. That’s assuming you know who Brodric Tis/Twas.
Boris is bumbling baffoon…! He is the person at school who would sharpen the eraser end of the pencil and not realize there was an eraser attached.
I certainly didn’t mean to annoy you.
Sorry for that.
Yes, that’s the accident. I don’t know where I pulled Barry from. More than likely from one of your dinner parties? It is good to hear that the chap has fully recovered.
My brother was killed by a motorcycle accident. They’ve blighted my life. When I was 15 and boarding at Fettes one of the perks was going swimming & diving at the newly opened Commonwealth pool. This was back in 1970. The famous five would take two bus rides from the school to the pool. On one such occasion on the return journey we were waiting for the second bus to arrive - terminate at St Andrews square, we would walk the mile back to the school at Carrington. Whilst standing at the bus stop - two motorbikes raced past us like a flash, one of the riders lost control and collided with the rear a stationary coal truck… The rider struck the flat bed of the truck and he was decapitated. A pool of blood, a twisted-contorted-headless body and a severed head minus its chin all strewn about the road!! “A most horrendous experience”. We were all crying, shaking with fear and in deep state of shock - an ambulance carted the five of us to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where we were sedated and comforted for two hours until our parents arrived. Over 50 years ago, the image is etched into my brain. But back then I struggled for years carrying the experience around in my head.
Not at all. You didn’t annoy me. That’s my job. Cheers. Happy Christmas. I’m not posting music today. Having a break.
That is a real nightmare.
I wonder why I still drive the bike.
I lost a friend in a motorcycle accident.
A merry Christmas to you and all members too.
What a horrible story. I remember seeing my first dead person in a car crash. Although not particularly gory the image has also haunted me for my entire life. I was probably 10 years old.
