Until yesterday I didn’t know about it. I played the one track, then queued the album for playback later.
Miles Davis “Dark Magus” Sony Japan 2 cd budget release. Sound is pretty darned good.
Qobuz. CD. More harpsichord; perfectly acceptable but not nearly as thrilling a sound. Good music. Well played. An enjoyable listen.
“The Complete Roulette Jack Teagarden Sessions” Mosaic Reords, disc 3
A very different set of music than the predecessor, but man I love this stuff. Jack is such a joy to listen to.
Don Goldie is so good with Jack, and Don Ewell, wow.
All in all a great play, with the third cut, Braxton’s Due, interplay between pianist Craig Taborn and drummer Andrew Cyrille a stand-out. Enjoying Hugh warm rounded tone on this wintery morning. Recommended for those curious about free bop.
While not J.S Bach, a fine sounding recording by David Wilson.
