Qobuz. HR. Unfortunately this is nothing like Ms Podger’s re-imagining of The Four Seasons with Brecon Baroque which so disarmed me. She plays lightly and well, but the accompaniment is conventional and all too often triggers memories of interminable telephone hold music. The bright spot was the initial allegro which was a chaconne in all but name. I think it is a pleasant enough album, but unfortunately not for me. The curse of Vivaldi strikes again.
