Such a broken yet amazing place and people. Might have one more trip in my life.
BTW…this recording is GOOD music!
Qobuz just took me to Grant Green “Django” in 196/24 The album is very cool, specially on this hot day, 90 degrees in NH.
Anecdote alert.
Many years ago (probably around the time of the “big bird monk with electrostatic speakers” incident), I lived in a house with several other folks in the Fens of East Anglia.
One of them, Mark, was a bit odd, but a nice chap nonetheless.
He bought a bunch of different colours of Plastecine one day, and started sculpting with his hands a head, about 3 inches across, with individual teeth, and the same colour scheme as the Court of the Crimson King cover.
In the end it was an almost perfect replica, and very impressive (and not a bit disturbing!).
Mark died the following year (1984) in a stupid and pointless moped accident, and the Plastecine head stayed on the mantelpiece.
I found out a couple of years ago that the owner of that house still lives there, it wouldn’t surprise me if the head is still on the mantelpiece too, I hope so

One of “those” records in my life…felt important at one time, 50th anniversary…
Funny, almost cut my hair doesn’t have the same impact when you use a #1 clipper everywhere.
