Groovy 60s Jazz.
The Bar-B-Q Man…Sonny Stitt with Idris Muhammad on drums. How can you go wrong?
Going to be an early night…caught a moderate cold this week. Cold and dry here in Chicago early, ug. Going into the playlist portion of the evening early. Work is a bastard. So ya, work is a bitch but life is good. Three trips coming up. Cuba, skiing at Beavercreek and the grand finale…the first weekend of Mardi Gras (not Fat Tuesday - two weekends before). The Krewe du Vieux parade in the Marigny and Quarter being the highlight.
I pick songs out of this massive set in small bites. It’s too much…but unbelievable in small doses. I’ve posted this before, never liked the original release…tried many times. Then I bought this.
With Snowmass, the band (and the crowd) is marching in the house. The greatest marching band song ever? Certainly the funkiest!
An exquisite “Cracked AnEgg” recording. One of those albums that are worth listening to in their entirety. With a glass of bourbon or scotch at hand.
And finishing it up with “Betty” after “Bending New Corners”
