I played these two Platinum SHM-CDs from Japan. Mono mixes, mastering is superb. Love the sound.

Two new Pentatone 96/24 downloads - Houston Symphony playing Dvorak Symphony No. 9 ā€œNew Worldā€. This a very dynamic recording of a spirited performance. Love it.

Also Elgar Cello Concerto Johannes Moser with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. Another stunning recording with a lovely performance that I actually prefer to the famous 1965 Du Pre.

Both are well worth checking out.

Antonio Carlos Jobim, Stone Flower, this time the Japanese SHM-CD remastered by Rudy Van Gelder. Subtly different, a bit more forward, stronger bass. A neat way to hear this recording that I know so well.

Broke a banana connector on the amp end of my speaker cables (Morrow SP5s). The BHK 250ā€™s speaker terminals and the Morrow bananas are not a good match. Always had trouble (no trouble on the speaker end). Iā€™ll have Morrow replace the bananas with spades. Always a problem to solve in this finicky hobby. For now, Iā€™m using cheap bi-wired Vampire wire (2-12Ga twisted pairs) I had laying around.

Anyway, Stereo is playing sweet, sweet music!

One of the fathers, literally, of New Orleans Jazz. Still lives, plays and records there. Great CD for Sunday morning breakfast.
