Your Next Upgrade? (Part 2)

So, I have a few more hours on my latest upgrade - a gently used DS Sr. with some Edcor transformer and analogue JKR power supply upgrades and I have to say the presentation is clearly better on some favorite tracks like this one:

Again, I am noting more clarity without any sense of an analytical sound. Rather the details just seem to roll out more naturally (any), warts and all.

I have once again been impressed with what can be wrung out the DS Sr. and systems in general. One of reasons for being an aficionado - there always seems to be more to be had from familiar material.

Love it when I get to be reminded of that fact

Such fun.

Happy cake day Al! I hope your cake survives the day

Dale, did you have to buy a package of 100? That’s all I found on Amazon and other suppliers. They also seemed to be for the C14 plug going into a C13 outlet which, as I read it, is backwards from what we use. Am I missing something? I really need this for my AirLens since the cord has fallen out a couple of times. Never happened with other components

I did buy bags of 100. Seems stupid but given the money I spend on this hobby
cheap since they work.

Try wrapping some Teflon plumbers tape around the female end
works great. Don’t be stingy with it
use enough to get a tight grip!

10-4. Less than the price of an entry level fuse or isolation device.

Happy Cake Day Al!

New Timber Nation rack(s) waiting for assembly

Big fan from afar of their quality and reputation

Don’t own any of their stuff personally, but some day probably.

Looking forward to pictures of completed project.

Congrats.

Very high quality, hand made to order in Tyrone, PA

They will make the racks about any way they you want and don’t mind “specials”.

Latest upgrade. Wireless setup to help relocate the 2nd sub.

Finally got the wireless up and running after some hiccups. Totally my fault. Not the transmitter.

For my Definitive Tech outside speakers above my deck. Fixed volume, unbalanced input from my pass pre into the Lehmann audio pre (headphone amp) and then the Schiit Vidar 100W per Channel A/B amp. Running for about 30 minutes and sounds great outside. Can’t wait for warmer weather!

What is that contraption on the top shelf? It looks like something that might be found in an archeological dig.

It looks like an analog typewriter.

But if one must use their digits to work it, is it really analog?

The FM bug hit so I made a move
This tuner not only sounds wonderful
but is like new out of the box!

Sansui TU-9900

Very nice!

That’s badass. I had an AU-717 and TU-717 back in the day. I drooled over the 9900 but it was way over my budget. The controls had a very smooth “rich” tactile feel.

This is tempting and, even with it’s issues, I’m a big BluOS fan.

The whole unit is just badass
the superb craftsmanship of yesteryear shows
all 22 lbs of it! The feel and build quality is over the top! This one was built in 1977. Without a doubt museum quality
