Your Next Upgrade? (Part 2)

The seller seemed rather trustworthy. I chalk it up to poor design combined with bad luck.

Looking forward to your opinion re it’s sound.

Those nylon standoffs and fasteners can and do fail if the shipping box is hit with enough force. I’ve seen it happen myself on other devices.

I think he has proof of this.

The odd thing is the box showed no sign of impact. I do not doubt it had a rough trip. FedEx is covering the claim.

Perhaps someone used one of these:

I had exactly the same issue but the dealer replaced it with a new unit. 2 days waiting and the problem was fixed!
I suspect it’s not FedEx the culprit: two clues prove it!

We build fixtures for automotive isolator and damper testing on this type of table (among other torture chamber testing machines).

You can pretty much wreck anything if you shake it hard enough, fast enough and long enough.

30 day tests are 10 year life cycle real world comparison tests.

I enjoyed testing pumpkins and watermelons from a high rooftop to tarmac.

% survived?

I suppose that depends on your definition of survival.
As inanimate non-life forms, their shape changed drastically but no substances were lost.

Oh, no, Al. Pumpkins and watermelons are life forms, just not sentient* life forms. If they were, you would have heard screaming.

(* As far as we know.)

Hmmm–Smashing pumpkins. I think you’re on to something there.

Ha! Hard to say, but it is breaking in nicely, and does not command the room as some regenerators tend to.

My eldest daughter in grade school did the egg drop science project, essentially releasing a raw egg from the school roof top. The challenge was to develop a means to ensure the egg was intact upon impact. She attempted different methods in her trials and ultimately ended up with dropping the egg into a tub of jello. The egg survived, classmates shared in eating the jello, and she aced the drop test.

That’s cool. We did the egg drop as part of the space program in the mid 60’s.

She and her classmates had a lot of fun with it. Totally impractical.

I installed my two Shunyata Alpha V2 NR power cables today. One went on my Sonore Signature Rendu and the other went on my DSD mkii. Moved the Omega QR-s to my Pass pre (it was on the mkii).

I also installed the Tripp Lite plug locks for all the 15A (C13) plugs. They work amazing….the plug is in the socket nice and tight. Funny but when I pushed my rack back, after installing the Alphas, my Shunyata Omega XC came unplugged from my Shunyata Denali. I did panic for a minute before I figured out what happened. Ordered the C19 (20A) version right away. These things really work…highly recommended.
