In some States you’re only allowed to add a second grounding rod to the main residence if the existing grounding rod has a resistance of >25 Ohms.
I had to add a 3rd grounding rod to my audio room which isn’t attached to the main house. When a sub panel is added to another structure you have to isolate the neutral and still add a grounding rod, the neutral and equipment ground are bonded only at the main entrance panel.
Thanks for the context.
Here at the Ground Rod Forum.
(Ima change my name to Rod Ground)
(Earlier in life my nickname was “Nimbo L Rodbender”)
(But that’s another story)
Yes, definitely. That’s why my comments were referenced to the main residence. Separate structures fed from the same incoming main require as you indicate.
I thought that was your porn star alias?
Body double for Michael Fassbender? funny how the truth comes out finally!
Did someone say ground rod?
(Hi PS Audio fam!)
Hi Vee, nice to see you in text.
Hello stranger!!!
Hopefully can see in person again, hint @vee
My new used Innuos Zenith Mk3 arrived today and I have it up and running as a Roon Core. It came with 600GB of somebody else’s ripped files so it’s a bit disconcerting to play with. I have to figure out how to restore my playlists and get my own ripped files on it.
It sounds really good as It settles in, though my former Nucleus+ setup was pretty well optimized, so it may take a while for me to suss out the specific differences.
My AirLens is back at the mothership for a repair (we couldn’t get to update either over the air or via USB), so I have the Holo Audio Red back in the systems as an endpoint and DDC I2S out, but I’m enjoying the Mk2’s USB input more than I2S, same as before…
I have done a Roon Backup on one server and restored that backup to another server. I have done this many times. It is helpful that in my house all the Roon servers I try point to the same NAS. But you could remove the files that came on your MK3 and place your files on it. Or, if you have enough disc space you could leave the new bonus files and add yours. When you backup your previous Roon server and use that Backup to restore the MK3 Roon server it will figure things out. At least that has been my experience.
As the MK3 Roon server is not all that important as it came you can at least back it up and try restoring a backup from the other machine.
did you buy the Mola from him?
If you are using a PS Audio generator, you should try this little add-on Puron AC conditioner. Put it in the first HC spot next to the power cord.
When I first added it a few days ago, I thought it improved the midrange and image a little bit. But after four days this thing made a noticeable improvement from three days ago.
However, I plugged the 2nd Puron into the system, the system sounded a bit darker, where soundstage and clearness did not improve further. At least in my system one is just right.
I believe that makes a noticeable difference. I have used Shunyata Research Defenders in my system with good results. And in my system, in my case, there’s an incremental improvement with more than one (or perhaps my system needs more darkening than others’).
Painting is done!
Experimenting with different front wall panels. I have a broadband bass absorber (black) and some absorption vs diffusion above it. The 10” deep bass traps on the corners will stay in current position.
What a nice space.
Enjoy.
