Your Next Upgrade? (Part 2)

Yes, before I bought my Rossini. I had one here for ten days. It sounded good. It’s on the ugly side. I did not like the display.

I am doing this on Friday. I am looking forward to it. I am pretty sure there’s going to be a full Vivaldi Apex stack. I don’t know what the rest is going to be.

Should be fun! Curious as to amplification and cabling with the Puppies.

A shame, I understand why the other 4 subs were missing. :joy:

Any chance you can make it to GTT Audio Ron? I’d love to hear what you think of the Vivid Moya speakers (sonically)! You have heard Wilson Chronosonic, MBL Extremes, and Estelon Extremes the Vivid Moya would add to the list of ultra crazy expensive speaker experiences! @aangen may be interested also.

I’m planning a visit soon. Just waiting for schedules to match with a couple friends.

I heard the new Watt/Puppies with D’Agostino monoblocks. Glorious imo…
Then I lugged my little First Watt F7 (30 watts into 4 ohms) in and listened to that pairing.
I was ready (with great enthusiasm) to pull the financial trigger. But then the market took it’s dump. After the stench of recession clears I’m buying some. No doubt. Love them.

This sounds like an excellent description of wiring being out of phase.

Sadly, it wasn’t. I checked. :man_shrugging:

There once was a man from Nantucket—er uh–New Jersey, who bought some speaker cables from a company that designs at the state of the art in the science of the stuff; Ls, Rs, Cs, electrons, waves…
And when he got his state of the art/science speaker cables, they were mislabeled positive to negative and so on.
The sound was exactly as you described. And when the replacement set was installed, all the villagers, or at least the guy, rejoiced as all was as it should be, according to the guy.

Anything is possible, my friend. :slightly_smiling_face: Oddly, though, pretty much everything we played – all of the usual suspects – all had the sort of solid center images and spatial expectations that we would have expected.

Just out of curiosity, during the demo did you mention it to the staff? Possibly giving them an opportunity to either investigate or explain.

Not exactly the same but another guy from New Jersey (me) bought a set of interconnects from a long standing and respected wire company. They were hardly that company’s top of the line but they weren’t exactly $1.98 either. Both cables had their directional arrows on all four ends pointed to the middle of each cable. I’d like to think they didn’t simply remove the shrink wrap from one end of each and slap on new ones so they at least looked right.

One big downside to completely reorganizing three stereo systems…

That looks like fun to me!

A somewhat familiar image. Further motivation for me to continue with my downsizing project(s). Just installed a new RAL umbilical between my XP-22 and its power supply. Not as involved as what your image indicates, but I abhor reconfiguring. When I am finished with it I am typically pleased with the result as in the addition of the RAL.
