I don’t care if it clicks I care if it makes a connection and holds in place. The Stealth black magic did neither for me with the silver ring. If it works for you congrats.
For people who care about this sort of thing, in my modest HT setup the P15 does a better job than Puritan PSM-156.
I do not listen to music from B&W Formation Bar/Bass because I am spoiled by my two-channel system, and I heard no difference between them (more likely due to no attention paid to SQ). But in terms of video quality the P15 gives a richer and more colorful picture than Puritan on my 65 OLED. The Puritan in fact makes the picture cool and a bit unnatural.
The picture is so good that I am seriously considering a 77" OLED. Hmm, Black Friday is coming.
Not an upgrade for me, but checked off an item from my bucket list today. Listened to music on the Infinity IRS Beta loudspeakers and met forum member @ErVikingo. His system sounds nice, quite nice, and was good to be able to finally see and hear the IRS Beta in person.
It’s been many years since I heard the Infinity Beta’s as well as the IRS V at the Audible Difference at Palo Alto, CA, but it was some unforgetable experiences. Top line Mark Levinson Amps and Transparent Audio cabling. The sound was life size and so powerful. Both system can plummet way down in the bass. With the IRS V’s bass, was the first time I ever felt the 16hz waves from an organ that left me in awe. The beta’s power was not far behind putting big solid images in the room and drums has such power and realism. Arnie Nudell was such a bass freak.
Arnie is my kind of guy! RIP
Thanks for coming over! I enjoyed our chat and listening to good music on my system.
I thoroughly enjoy them and like them but it helps to have trained ears giving me feedback. After all calculations are done, placement gets fine tuned by ear and I appreciate your feedback regarding soundstage and tonal balance.
God I miss the Palo Alto Audible Difference!
Audible Difference is where my audio journey began so many years ago. That’s where I bought my first high end piece, a brand new Audio Research SP-9 MK2 preamp. Along with the big Infinty’s, I was smitten with the Wilson Watt Puppy, and what really blew me away was the Wilson Grand Slam that literally made the Tiny Tots sounded well, tiny. Those were the days.
This dealer was 10 minutes from me. I only visited once because I was quite detached from this hobby for a long period of time. Now there’s no audio dealers near me. Wait, that maybe a good thing.
Hey, I’ve got a maybe I might just do it feeling to explore an upgrade possibility. It will require me flying to either GA or TX to hear it. Fortunately the distance is keeping this from turning into a front burner possibility.
Tony Tony Tony. I give.
Sorry Ron. I don’t want to throw anything out there unless or until it turns into a real possibility. Let’s just say right now I’m daydreaming.
I envy your savvy and composed attitude, congrats!
Aren’t you in northern FL?
I’ve been at this too long, my friend. Where some have been at this as long as I - or longer - and still retain that “can’t wait gotta do it now” enthusiasm (which is a great thing to have after so many years), I tend to move after much deliberation. Even when faced with you guys!
Central. It’d be a 7 hour drive if this happens in GA. Depending on how I’m doing (I have a bad lower back that flares up occasionally) I may either drive or fly.
Why don’t you buy a Mercedes with the electrically adjustable lumbar support and massage for the drive up?
“RonP everybody! Let’s give him a nice hand! He’ll be here all week - two shows on Saturday. Have a great rest of the evening and don’t forget to try the veal!”
Patience is a virtue.
And don’t forget to tip Flo, your waitress. She’s workin’ hard for yuz.
