Maybe we should come up with a map of the forum members.

The Twin Cities appear to be a hub of audio activity.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meet-up over a fine cortado. Great to share our experiences and learn from one’s audio travails. We must do this yet again.
I consider my audiophile experience no more than a journey. My strength comes from keeping in mind the importance of the music, and that the hardware does no more than to serve that purpose.
Great thought. I tend to be on the move with no one “home”. I consider Central Wisconsin, Northern Illinois, with Chicago being a special place.
Regarding meet-ups, an audio buddy has invited me to hear his recently restored Hill Plasmatronics speakers, and new Dohmann Helix One turntable. Possibly mid-December.
A forum member map is a excellent idea!
Sad to live so far from all of you! Put a mark for me also on the other side of the map!
I’m even further, but not far from @Gareth !!
Next time I’m there, Luca, you must take the time for us to be able to listen together to your system!
It would be great!
Speaking of upgrades, I’ve just about gotten an ancient (but NOS) REL R528SE sub integrated with my main speakers. It’s received universal thumbs up from those who’ve heard it (actually, haven’t heard it!). I really don’t need a sub, as I get usable output from the mains to about 34Hz, but it’s some dB down from nominal. The REL has nicely evened that out to being a level output to 30Hz. It’s effective without really being noticed. About as much as I could hope for, although I’m tempted to try a sealed box Rythmik F12 to see if the flavor of its bass reproduction matches my VSA dual 7" low frequency drivers a bit better. The REL isn’t bad at all, really, but I’m not sure if a 12" passively terminated driver can quite keep up with the speed and agility of those VSA drivers. Right now I’m satisfied with the REL, but if a Rythmik should come my way I’ll be interested to give it a try.
And oh, I got suckered by you all into buying a set of AUVA 100s for my speakers.
I can tell you Rythmik is the real deal. I have the big brother G25HP dual 15" version. Its amazing. Paired with my Sopra 2 which have about the same extension as yours to 34. I have my CR-1 set to 33-34hz for xover. With a bit of room correction the blending of them is amazing. Wish Rythmik did high level connection like REL.
If ordering direct, some Rythmik models like the F12 are available with a plate amp option that does indeed have high level connections.
RoadTrip!
Looking forward to hearing of your thoughts once they are settled in.
You still have an open invite.
Both of my sets of F12’s are connected via high level.
How do you like them, Jack? What are they paired with main speaker wise?
Tony, I’ve owned my two pair five years and six years and I really like them. Over the years I’ve owned most of the other brands but these are the best of the bunch other than the Vandersteen subs if you want to go through what it takes to use them with the external crossovers and amp matching. Over the years I’ve paired the Rythmik’s with Nola KO’s, Reynaud Abscisse Jubile’s, Rosso Fiorentino Voltara 2’s and Verity Otello’s. All of them involved the Rythmik’s connected via speaker level. The amps with the speaker level connections used to be standard but I understand that now due to the increased cost and limited availability they are an upgrade option. Still you can buy two for the price of a single REL and deal directly with the factory and the owner. Never had the need to reach out to Brian but don’t expect it would be a problem. If you don’t want to deal with the hookup hassle of the Vandersteen’s then to me the Rythmik’s are the next best option. I gave my pair of Vandersteen subs to a friend in Tallahassee before we moved and now that he wants to change amps he is going to go through the high pass crossover dance again.
Thanks. I’m curious as to how you felt these do musically compared to any REL you may have tried. There seems to be differing opinions with regard to how subs should work with a two channel music system. My thought is the should be seen and “not heard”, if that makes sense.
When I got my Rythink I called a few times for tips setting etc… they answered the phone and took their time to help. Great little company.
