Unsure if posting sub 10k compoments here are still allowed or not but here it goes, tying to get a coax of my CD player to I2s to my DAC, the Laiv DDC. it seems nice!
My latest upgrade.
Power cables for the amp and preamp from Pine Tree Audio. I can hear things in the background much more clear and when there are two people singing at the same time I hear them each more clearly. Bass is more tight and impactful and the highs are more relaxed and soft.
Another recent improvement and probably more significant is a new listening chair. The office chair I had been using sits much higher than the new chair putting my ears above the speakers where with the new chair my ears are now under the tweeters. This put me right in the bass. So much so I ended up turning the volume down by quite a bit on the sub. I also turned the crossover down from 68hz to 52hz which canât be coincidence seeing as my room has a nice sized dip between 42hz and 52hz. Iâm sure my neighbors can appreciate this upgrade too All these small gains are really starting to add up into something really niceâŚ
Our President has forced me to buy a new vehicle today. It is much less expensive then when he forced me to buy a new audio system the last time he was President.
An American car?
It has been on my mind as well. I have decided to wait as the current offerings are uninspiring, to say the least. We just purchased a vehicle for my wife last spring, so sheâs in no hurry.
As of today, I believe most if not all of us have.
Get yourself an Audience FrontRow HP C19. Mine has settled in nicely along with my C15. I can easily say I am most pleased, as I am working with a FR full loom, not a mash-up.
I was about to pull the trigger on a new vehicle 2 weeks ago but was sidetracked by some audio gear.
So what compelling rides are you guys finding?
If it was an American car there wouldnât be a need to rush. I replaced my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport with a 2025 Santa Fe Calligraphy Hybrid. The old vehicle had an Infinity sound system. I have always despised Infinity. The new one has a Bose system. LOL. I need to order a Sin Research Carbon Black Box for it.
Anyway, my drive down to AXPONA will be automated. Heads up display, fancy everything. I am driving away with it, leaving my old vehicle behind.
My wife is going to kill me.
Makes one feel alive, doesnât it?
Hybrid, nice choice. Bose, hmmh. Maybe not a step up.
The only hybrid on my mind that Iâd consider and fit in presently is the Toyota Crown Signia. The sound system isnât one of itâs stronger points, nor is the particular hybrid system, rather coarse IME.
Self drive, this is the way! Youâll like it once you get used to everyone cutting you off, especially around Madison. When I blew my knee out in Chicago, my current carâs saving grace was it drove me home with no driver input other than programming the Navigation and safety features. Of course not too many obstacles to deal with at 2:30 AM on a Sunday night.
Temporarily
We have two German cars in the garage, and today they all increased in value. We drove one 4000 mile and the other 3000 miles last year. So, they have plenty of life left. My plan is to keep both until a new President is in the office; It could be four, eight, or more years.
One of my vehicles was 12 years old when I bought it, and that was 5 years ago.
The other is approaching 4 years, with only 13,000 miles on it.
What happens when the Auto tariffs are made effective retroactively, say to 1/1/25 for example?
The charges are collected by customs when the items arrive from outside the country.
Youâre scaring me
What happens if the EU drops their auto tariffs from to 25% to 2.5%?
