Your Next Upgrade? (Part 2)

Look forward to your thoughts. Borrowed from the Cable Co. I assume. The standard Front Row HP and MP power cords seem nice enough.

It’s absence is as obvious as a rock in my shoe.

More power cables…

Wow, a Stealth CG LE! I will be surprised if FRR can beat this one.

If you worry about trashing it in public, please PM me since one of them will very possible be on my January’s shopping list.

On the tuning ring, I definitely prefer it to be closer to the gear end instead of closer to the wall (2020 on PZ).

I will say that BOTH power cables are VERY nice!!! I have to do several back and forth switches to fine tune differences.

That is the right political answer! It is good to know at the higher level the sound is closer to each other than apart (and I agree too). But I suggest listening to one cord for a couple days then do the same with the other so you may hear more of their differences.

On my short time with Stealth Dream 2020, it has a special synergy with PowerZone (maybe with power conditioners in general). It is like PZ got a turbo charge that makes all better music from PZ even more positive (without altering any sound characters).

Have fun comparing cables. I’m curious to see what effect the cables have.

Getting in these Snake River - Takshaka biwire speaker cables.
Jonny and I are friends, and I will be one of the first in line to try these.
Will be interesting to see how they perform on the MBL speakers!

My evaluation of multi-input phono preamps is complete. One has been chosen to take over phono duties. If anyone is interested in my super clean Pass XP-17, PM me before I post it for sale.

I hate to say this, the FRR is a GREAT power cable connected to my MU2, but the Stealth CG LE is even cleaner and does not have the bloat that FRR has with my system. That said, the Stealth CG LE (to the MU2) needs the Stealth 20-20 on the PowerZone to perform its best in my system, as there is a little restraint in the system, though most likely caused by the dragon power cable. I could not hear the bloat in my system with FRR until I did the direct comparison, as the improvement yesterday was off the charts good connecting the FRR to the MU2.

After removing all the upgraded power cables from my system, it is like walking with multiple rocks in both shoes.

All you need is to turn those rocks into gold!

Oh no, the membership here has turned out to be the most expensive one to join, and I can not quit next year it seems.

You are at least half way there. You have a 2020.

True, what @adifferentpaul said. Unfortunately in my system the D333 also needed a 20-20 to make the MU2 CG LE sound best. With an AQ Dragon on the D333 the CG LE was a little too much in the top-end for me. The 20-20 to the D333 brought it all together, just like Al said it would.

Good to know. I will probably use ZenWave PSR-11 for D333 (AQ Dragon will be a step down from both). SQ is quite closer to Dream 2020 than it is from AQ Dragon for sure. Once the monster is here, I will try both to see how close they are in SQ (again, they are already close at PZ). The only way I can do it is to, for a short time, put a Puritan Class+ at PZ because of the C19 plug.

Concerning Stealth cables, all credit must go to George at Kyomi Audio. He introduced me to them. I got lucky. Otherwise I might be trying this or that forever.
He also introduced me to Gryphon. Otherwise I might be trying this or that forever.
I discovered Grimm on my own. Thankfully.
Bacch was a @paul172 discovery.
Vivid, George again.

In each case they are final solutions that shall not be questioned. To me at least. I just pass on what I have been fortunate to learn.

George has great ears! Got to give him that! It’s like he’s a classical pianist or musician!
