My new (to me) Synergistic SRX power cord arrived today to join the SRX XLRs and SRX speaker cables, and it has now only to begin cooking in the system, but holy dynamics and slam, Batman!
It replaces an SX Euphoria HC on the Powercell 8 SX that powers my system, which was none-too-shabby, but the positive differences are becoming oh-so clear…
They make them in platinum and gold too - my search is complete! I love how the rough cut around the turquoise beads really enhances the organic sound quality. AND, they are made in France.
I just bailed on an interior trim panel set from a Canadian seller for my new-to-me 2011 BMW E90 M3 because the tariff on goods under $800 goes into effect tomorrow and the shiping service (e.g. FedEx or UPS) has to collect the duty upon delivery.
I wasn’t planning it or even thinking about it but it looks like I got lucky on timing. The “low value” tariff exemption (for packages valued under $800) ended at midnight last night and a lot of country mail services, including the Royal Mail in the UK, are apparently suspending shipment of small parcels. Looks like there may be a double whammy coming in the form of tariffs on lower value goods from anywhere in the world (not only China) plus delays or more expensive shipping as shippers need to collect the tariffs.
Not really an upgrade but I’ve been playing for a few weeks with input and driver tube voltage regulation tubes for my Decware SEWE300B amplifier. These really make a more than subtle difference to the sound. I’ve found a great overal presentation with a Holland made Amperex 90C1 for the input tube and two English made 75C1 for the driver tubes. Best bass, very open midrange and sweet highs. I’m leaving them in and really enjoying the sound.
I was sort of wrong earlier. While I definitely enjoyed listening to music with the tube amp in the system, the clarity, dynamics and imaging with the MU2/523/534 combination has my jaw on the floor
Nope! The MU2 is being used as a streamer and DAC, but since being promoted to the main system, the 523 screamed out that it deserved to stay in the main system, and so it stays.
“Yes” on the 523 being the preamp and 534 the power amp.
