Yes, of course. Anything for a Paul, no matter how different.
I would learn to contend with this poor color choice.
Iâd rather have a new 911 and maybe something else. Oh, I know, a house.
Last night I read the review in Stereophile of the Audio Research Reference 330M and it sure does seem compelling.
A pair is outside my current budget but the reviewer (JSV) sure did like them.
What is the kit in âcolumn 1, row 3â in the first picture?
Power supply for all the similar looking gear.
Roger that.
TY.
I just auditioned, purchased, the Audio Research LS-2 pre and S-200 power amps feeding the Acora MRC-3 speaker; waiting for them to be delivered. The music from the three in the dealers sound room was mind blowing in every way. I upgraded my digital front end too. PSA PMG SACDâPMG 512 DAC with AQ Dragon HDMI. Again, the PSA pair are amazing. Noticeably improved from my PWTâDSMKII AQ Vodaka HDMI in every way hands down. The next change will be my Acoustic Signature Double XX TA-1000 Dynavector XX-2 MKII â Pure Fidelity ,Gulp, Symphony w/Origami 12â arm/Stratos cart. Iâm planning on this to be my end game system. As my wife says âyou canât take it with youâ! We know how that goes.
Sweet! Congrats on the new system! Been reading up on the Acora MRC-2 & 3. Great reviews. They are on my speaker list along with the JA Perspectives 2. Still in the research & save mode. Let us know how everything sounds once they are in and set up. And I agreeâŚâyou canât take it with youâ!
Thats going to be a spectacular system.. Congrats.
Thanks guys. Iâve been into this hobby since the mid 60s. This system is it for quite a while. My plan is to bang my head against the wall whenever the word upgrade enters my squash.
Congrats on the Audio Research gear, but the real question, did you choose silver or black?
Both of which will most likely increase in value. I assume the owner of such a stack doesnât really care about the cost.
Is this what you are referring to? If so, those are:
If you are referring to the box above the PowerIsolator, thatâs the dCS Varèse Core.
-
User Interface: this large screen, high resolution full width, works as a control function with the new circular Varèse remote control and displays the album art and typical playback features like track information and playback queues. There is a small Bluetooth antenna on the back to talk to the Varèse remote.
-
Two Mono DACs: one each for the Left and Right channels, this is where the conversion to analog happens.
-
Master Clock
-
Core: this is the unit that supports high resolution audio and streaming Noise shaping and ďŹltering happens here as well. Future prooďŹng is possible here for a while as there are modules in the back, not unlike pro audio tape decks, where new hardware and functionality can be allowed over time.

SACD Transport
Ultimately, all the matters.
This ^^.
Wow, what a system.
Thanks for the follow up.
Black. My system is black, Sonus Faber Maxima Amator dark walnut Acoustic Signature TT Doublexx Makassar
Beautiful!
Congrats on you Audio Research gear, the s-200 is on my short list of power amps to audition. Other than power output, specs are hard to come byâŚdimensions, weight, damping factor, etc. May I ask, do you have any info on those?
I incountered the same minimal amount of literature on the onset of my search. i was able to find the specs in a weird way. LS-2 and S-200 share what appears to be similar, if not identical, chassisâ. I was able to find the LS-2 physical dimensions, which are 19wX17DX5-6(H) inches, just extrapolate that to the S-200. Itâs 200@8ohm 400@4ohm. I was able to find the electrical specs but Iâm unable to find the again. Iâll admit Iâm not the sharpest knife in the drawer at times. Keep noodling on the web and youâll find them. From what AR is saying they canât make em fast enough. Iâm taking that as a good omen.
