Your Next Upgrade? (Part 2)

I use 2 Synergistic Carbon Tranquility Pod’s underneath my Diablo 300…the improvement made is a game changer… The lowering of the perceived noise floor is a thing of beauty! Way more details coming to the surface. Enjoy!

Any photos of the 300 with the tranquility pods underneath? Thanks in advance.

Since day one I placed four Stack Audio EQ3 under the feet of D333, and I wonder how much improvement in SQ from these footers. I do not bother to find out since I know I will put them back, and I know they are doing good work based on my experience from other components. Josh was nice to ask me if I was interested in testing their SW model for subwoofers. But when I told him I only have a Sono Bass4 for HT he lost interest  Of course I told him do not need to send me a set.

However, these first-reflection-point diffuser works really well for the past year, and my wife like it too:

Unifi. I have a few different models. Over the next month or so they are releasing a few more plus a new doorbell. They are all PoE, so you’ll need the underlying infrastructure. At least a PoE (I would get Poe+ and PoE++) and Cat 6A cabling. Very worth the effort. The night vision alone is worth it.

Has anyone installed these? I have the original Gaia which made a noticeable improvement.

I’m a big fan of Tranquility pods & bases, and use them under my digital front end. Their impact varies with changes in positioning, so it can take some experimenting to find the best spot. FWIW you can also get a nice boost in performance by upgrading the power supply, dc and ground cables to the tranquility devices.

  • DC cables: 2x 15.5 awg Mundorf Stranded Angelique, with an 5.5/2.5 connector (Oyaide, Elec Audio or Viborg are good)
  • Power supply - SR sells one, but a 24v SolaHD is a super cheap way to experiment. Those power supplies are sleepers and dirt cheap used (Sola HD SLS-24-xxx models)
  • Ground wire - SR HD SX are good, you can also make your own. I like a blend of small gauges of OCC Silver/Copper that totals to around 17awg, with a cotton sleeve. Connect them to your SR ground block of choice (the mini bananas required can be found on Amazon).

I also have a SR base under my Jays transport and it’s a keeper too!

Are you using two under the Diablo 300?

2 correct!
I tried 1 on top and 1 under…then 2 on top… and then 2 under.
To my ears… 2 under was the ticket!

I have Tranquility Pod Carbons under my MU2, and my AGD Gran Vivaces, all of which reside upon 2" cast acrylic slabs and the blue LED on the Pods active modules causes the slabs underneath the AGDs to glow blue in the dark. Stack Audio AUVAs sit between the slabs and the components.

Yesterday, I recieved a used original Tranquility Pod to place under the Nucleus+ I use as my Roon Core, but the big kicker was adding an Uptone Audio JS-4 triple-regulated LPS to power the Nuc+, using both 2 amp rails strapped together at 15 volts for a major accross the board increase in SQ right out of the box. It’s sounding even better today, and some say that the JS-4 will continue to improve over two to even three weeks.

Prior to the JS-4, I was powering the NUC+ with one rail of a JS-2 at 12 volts, good enough, but nowhere near as good as the sound I am now getting from using both rails of the JS-4.

Happy boy…

After promising I’d give a report on the AUVA SW feet, I’m glad I procrastinated. Turns out I ordered them so soon after getting the private announcement email that they sent me the wrong ones! It was only after a recent post in the Sort Kones thread (I think) that I was made aware of the different weight ratings for these. I wound up getting CSR2 SWs when for the REL Carbon Special they should be CSR4. Josh is taking care of it, but in the end it’s fortunate I didn’t use these.

I’ll take credit for that Tony. Also you’ll need the correct thread for the bolts that hold the ‘runners’.
Josh should provide those although I’m not sure what size the bolts are that hold the runners in place.
Perhaps you can post in either of the two threads when you come to do it as to what size of tool is required as I plan on getting a couple of sets for my two sometime down the road?

Josh is taking care of things. As of yesterday he said they hadn’t gotten the bolts in hand yet, but when they do they’ll ship out to me. I didn’t ask and he didn’t specify the size.

You’ll obviously need to know the size and type of bolt to remove them.

Seen on the DCS forum. I don’t know the poster, but I wish it was me!
