I posted this in the old forum but this also one of my favorites.
Youssef Dhafer has many fine albums and with different moods.
This is from the album Abu Nawas Rhapsody.

Forgot how much I enjoy this one!
New SHM-CD from Japan
Here at Dadās Iām going through the Complete RCA Album Collection of Fritz Reiner and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra box set. The mastering on this set is exemplary. Up to āThe Reiner Sound.ā That concert hall was a great place to record!

thanks for the reminder on Brahem. I too am a fan although that particular set is kinda ādarkā but certainly can take one on a trip.
How about Chris potter? I call his works ājazz for classical music loversā.
While we are visiting Tunisia, a country with some amazing music contributions, I have also posted about Youssef Dhafer before. His music ranges from Soulful Sufi inspirations to all out pop jazz.
Worth a listen and check out youtube for his wide range of talented offerings.
Sufi as well as Ghazal music are among the most moving and intimate that I have ever experienced. Perhaps because they are so inspired by the devotion that the artists are experiencing and their sharing of that with the listeners. No matter what spiritual path is involved the energy experienced is universal.
Richard Bona is in my top 10 African musician list.
This is a nice taste and youtube has a good variety.
I never get tired of this one.
Just kick back and give it a listen.
Nicely done and diverse for Dr Mac.
Hunt around on youtube for a complete album listen.

Hereās one for those late nights when sleeping is not an option.
From the album Agharta.

When I think of favorite horn players I get images of mostly olde farts like me.
Christian Scott is a young exception. An amazing talent.
I often play him in the same sets with Gonzalo Rubalcaba [piano] as they are both young talents and made my favorites list.
Our pal AL has mentioned this album many times but I donāt think it ever made itās way to this list.
The added performance by Eddie Vinson [I love him too] makes this , as Al has shared with us previously, a must have for any jazz/blues aficionado. The SQ is great too.
Enjoy
hereās a bit more of a taste of Eddie.

A different version. I enjoy both and for different reasons.
You may have heard of this lady. :>}}
Eddie plays the trumpet on this track [but without a trumpet]
Ah, I saw yer shoulders movinā.
I wish I could find more of the two of them.
Iām not sure if she has an actual CD out yet but I think that Lettice Rowbotham, yup thatās her name, is one I will certainly watch out for.
She has a number of youtube videos including her appearances as a finalist on Britainās got Talent. They are worth watching. Some of the TV stuff is a touch āYanni-ishā but in the hands of a good production team she could be amazing. I hope for a release where she gets to let loose and show what sheās got.

Do you notice something about this next video?
gordon said Our pal AL has mentioned this album many times but I don't think it ever made it's way to this list.Glad you added this one. It's been one of my favorites as well for quite a while.
Mike Garson has been around for a long time although, many have heard him they may not have heard his name.
I am not a ātechno-Jazzā lover by genre but I do love improvisation when it is done as well as he does.
Check out some of his work on youtube.
