Aardvark ultra ethernet isolator

According to my mother, I spent the time up to Christmas chasing after her with the toy catalog starting in the fall at the latest. From Easter at the latest until my birthday. It stopped when I started earning my own money and Christmas and birthdays became less eagerly awaited. But I still find it difficult to wait. :see_no_evil:

I tried the Waversa filter, that I’m using just to filter noise from my iPad (hardwired to the router).
I tried the Pink Faun LAN isolator, that I’m using now plugged into the router at the very upstream part of the path.

Yes the Muon Pro alone is effective and worth the money, but once I added the Tempus switch (replacing the PhoenixNET switch) I liked it more.

Also the CAD boxes and Ground Master City helped in a very positive way but they are different, you can hear how they improve the background and overall relaxed presentation only when you remove them. While the Muon Pro and Tempus, you smile when they ARE in use.

I strained my eyes last night and read review. First of all, the streamer of the Grimm MU 2 is said to be very good and can remove most of the noise. My Cambridge edge ng could benefit far more from a filter and be one step closer to catching up with the MU2. From what I heard, the SmoothLAN limits the signal with its 100mbit. So that’s out of my decision. That leaves ENO2 and Muon Pro. The only thing I don’t like about the Muon pro is that it has cables on both sides. Doesn’t look so fancy when setting up in my case. The ENO2 now seems to have a similar structure and now also supports 1Gbit instead of 100mbit. The sonic differences between Muon pro and ENO 2 are probably due to the different housing, the high-quality TelegƤrtner connection and the internal wiring of the Muon Pro with silver conductors. The LAN cables are also of higher quality. Luca didn’t like the cables that much. I also read that a filter in front of the switch and one after it directly in front of the streamer would bring the best results. Twice ENO 2 or rather an ENO2 and a Muon Pro, even if I don’t like that with the 2 different cable sides. The internal silver wiring of the Muon pro and the better connection that, consolingly, delivers better results. Or will a new Muon Pro come soon with a stylish housing and the connections on one side for home use? Actually it was supposed to be for the professional studio area, because we didn’t pay as much attention to its appearance as in the living room at home. What about the cables that come with it? Luca didn’t like these so much? Do I leave out the set and just order the filters…
My thought process is perhaps to connect an ENO2 to the Devolo magic powerline, which transports my signal via the power line upstairs to my room. The Eno2 would then be in front of my Melco s100 switch and another or preferably in Muon pro then between the switch and streamer. And if I do convert to fiber optic I could put the ENO2 between the cable modem and the converter. Then with fiber optic to the Melco s100 switch and then muon pro or another ENO2 to the streamer. Or instead of something like LHY the Melco forward and in front of the streamer a Tempus…Dream

Muon Pro has silver in it? Anything with silver in audio is good you know, including the exterior color.

SmoothLAN can only do 100mb? Darn, I may just throw it away then, but my system didn’t suffer from that bottleneck that I could detect. I don’t really know what that does to the music anyway. Wait, I will throw it away next year when the newest and greatest filters come out. I’ll bet my system on it they will be coming outšŸ˜†

Good start Donald. Maybe I’ll try an ENO2 in different places and wait until a good filter (Muon pro 2) comes out, perhaps with the connections on one side.

Having the Tempus 2 SFP ports I guess the next Muon (or whatever name) will bring SFP as well. To go fiber? I guess, again, to use a Direct Attached Cable (DAC) because NA guys like electrical connections more than fiber.
All my speculations so take it with a grain of salt.

Are you using a lightning to ethernet dongle for the iPad?

I noticed another device plugged into the router’s ethernet ports (other than my streamer) will degrade the streaming sound.

Yep!

I prefer this way vs wifi, that is disabled at all.

There is a Waversa filter between the iPad and the router.

I also only have my Switch for the streamer. I removed the TV, Xbox, etc. I closed the open connections with Audioquest , which were also covered with 3M foil. I closed other connections with Lan terminations from Epplugs and Furutech Lan ncf clear line and tourmaline plugs. It makes a difference. Greetings Andreas

Disabling wifi is a good way to go.

I’m getting an Aardvark Ultra. I’ll post my results.

There is a review of the ENO2 mentioning also a few other filters https://youtu.be/nc3rEfat8u8?si=N7LhYQDV783iN3VS
