Another cable to ponder

They need maintenance, a helium recharge?

Wonder if that changes their voice like helium does ours

Hmm. I’m not quite sure I see how this is possible.

It would be quite easy for that hollow fibre to collapse, wouldn’t it? However sturdy the material, considering it needs to remain bendable…

Helium is a gas that does not combine with any other element. It protects the conductors from oxidation because there is no humidity. I think even if the helium can escape after a certain time. Much more important is the question of whether air can penetrate the hose and whether moisture is introduced. Even if the helium has escaped and little or no moisture can get in, there are certain advantages.
The atmosphere is only conductive due to humidity.

In order for the ā€œescape pathā€ to allow helium to dissipate, but nothing else to come in, the shield material being used to entrap the helium would have to be such that anything larger than helium atoms couldn’t pass through it, back into the shield tube. That’s some mighty impressive materials science for an audio cable. But then, in theory, hydrogen atoms would be able to migrate into that space.

And hydrogen is explosive…and beyond

When 2 hydrogen molecules fuse, helium results…this is how stars work

The right SQ through a great fuse and cable…might it fuse the hydrogen?

It’s hydrogen nuclei that fuse in stars i.e. hydrogen atoms without their electron.
Hydrogen at standard conditions exists as a gas of diatomic molecules.

The amp currents supply the electrons

For what?

Just joking

You never know some cable manufacturer might get the idea from here they could go down the fusion route. :grinning:

Or a special frequency pattern through them as part of the brew

A vacuum can sometimes be mysterious, Tony. For example, when my ex-wife and I are together in a room and she’s speaking, I eventually pass out from the vacuum that is created.

And don’t let anyone think Hi-Fi isn’t rocket science.

Do I hear new fuses coming into development?

You might have to take that back, lol

My understanding is that virtually no container will hold helium indefinitely. Even in a metal tank, it will slowly leak through the walls. If I recall correctly, that is.

Helium makes you sound like Mickey

I guess I will have to learn to live with your doubt.

Helium will enhance the duckness of the sound, make it more cartoonish.
