Anyone Else Concerned About the Upcoming Frank Zappa Hologram Tour?

I am long-time Frank Zappa fan, having seen him in concert eight times between 1980 and 1988, and having amassed a large collection of Zappa LPs, CDs, DVDs and ROIO’s (Recordings Of Indeterminate Origin). I am part of the target audience for the upcoming Frank Zappa hologram tour, also known as “The Bizarre World of Frank Zappa” (see link, below).

And yet, my current intention is to sit out this tour, as it strikes me as a maudlin money-grab on the part of the Zappa Family Trust.

On the other hand, there are multiple Zappa band alumni members I respect who are [allegedly] participating. This makes me wonder whether my concerns about ghoulishness and greed are justified.

Does anyone here have a view one way or another about this upcoming tour?

Thanks.

Dweezil is a really nice guy who seemed to me, to adore his father.

I agree about Dweezil, and the above-linked Relix article quotes him as saying "I am not interested in participating in anything with an artificial version of my father on stage.”

Back in May, Dweezil and the Zappa Family Trust apparently settled their years-long feud over the handling of Frank’s estate. Does this mean that Dweezil now supports the hologram tour? I don’t know, but I doubt it.

interesting

I’m only interested in attending this tour if joined by Steve Vai, Ian Underwood and Napoleon Murphy Brock…
